Now that larger SSD are becoming available, isn't the real competition
for Squeezebox going to be the laptop or some kind of tablet plugged in

We're about a year or two away but surely, this is the future.
In the interim, Squeezebox is fine and mine will cope until 500 Gb

What does SSD have to do with it?

real world use is a track rating system anyway - it's sort of like OCD

Because you can have something in the listening room that doesn't make
a noise. I find spinning drives barely tolerable.

I can't hear an enclosed 2.5 drive from more than a foot or two away.
But if it bugs you, you can use a small SSD for the boot drive and

doable, within a reasonable time horisont.
For my own, private, reasons I want the program to function and look

I am still disappointed that Logitech won't drop some cash on

Invariably, when I describe what the boxen do, people are very
interested, especially the older more affluent people who want to get
their music from a real stereo (or at least a HTIB) rather than an

Life is too short to rate tracks... And rating tracks is actually the

Hi,
(Couldn't see any discussion group appropriate for old Squeezebox2
questions so that's why I'm putting this in the General group)
I've been intending to upgrade my wireless network from WEP to WPA
encryption for years now but I always believed I couldn't because I
understood Squeezebox2
Is your wifi network currently running WEP? This is probably why it only
lets you choose from the 2 WEP choices. Try changing to WPA or WPA2 and
it should ask you for a password instead.

Excellent - Thanks Andy - that was it! I just naturally assumed it would
list all the types it supports irrespective of how the router is
configured. That's solved a long time mystery!
Thanks for your speedy response.

I had the same problem but have finally worked it out.
I've tried to post them but it seems I need to post at least once
before I can post links (not sure why) so here is my first post then
hopefully it'll work next time.
