[slim] When can we get an iHeartRadio Plugin?

2011-12-10 Thread jwagner010

Logitech: When will we see an iHeartRadio plugin? Sonos has had one out
for a while now, and in the US market at least clearly has an edge in
terms of availability of content

Everyone else that wants iHeartRadio: please take the time to go over
to logitech's Bugzilla site and login and vote (this is different from
commenting) for this plugin.

Re: [slim] Android Controller App

Ah, the Android press and hold technique. I'm still getting used to
that. Thanks. One other question: was the app built initially for 10
tablets? Seems like the Playlist titles are overlapped by the album
cover image on my 7 Nook Tablet.

Thanks for the info Gary.

Does anyone know anything about the files that I should delete?
Possible locations, names or partial names that I could search for?

I'm using Squeezebox server version 7.5.1 on Ubuntu.

What he's describing here is that the home screen shows up
automatically (like with a crashed app). I believe you will be
violating the background execution time so the app gets terminated
 after 10 min.
Unfortunately that is what I was talking about. Is there no workaround?
Is there a way to tell iOS every 9 minutes that the app is not in
background (even while in smart cover stand-by). If there is no
workaround I have to keep the light on all the time. Why does apple
makes it so difficult to save some energy?

I really like the magnets of iPad 2 because they seem to be the only
method to get back to the userinterface without the need of click and
slide. My iPad rests in a stand close to a tiny but strong magnet, so
the iPad is in standby while playing music. When I want to use
SqueezePad I just grab the iPad from the stand and automatically it is
enabled showing the user interface where I left it. Neither click nor
slide is needed here. Or I just move the magnet for some millimeters
and Squeezepad shows its information before I move the magnet back to
its dark position.

[slim] This stuff never gets old

2011-12-10 Thread MeSue

The way you can jump from one service to another from the Squeezebox
context menu is pure genius. Last night I spent a few hours listening
to my Recommended Radio from last.FM, reading bios, then jumping over
to Rhapsody to look up the artists I wanted to hear more of. Now I have
about a dozen new albums lined up to sample on Rhapsody. Good thing I
just cashed in more credit card points for Amazon gift cards...

If you use an electromagnet to put the iPad into stand-by mode, you can
interupt the magnet by use of a timer every 9:50 minutes (the
electromagnet can hide in the iPad stand). This also would enable you
to remotely switch on/off the iPad ;)
Belkin Co. should come up with a stand with built in electromagnets
which can be actuated by either timer or remote.

Anyway, apple should give the user the option to set background
execution time limit from 10 min to unlimited (when plugged to an power
supply).

2011-12-10 Thread rgro

To each his or her own. I tried MOG and it was a disaster---skipping,
and rebuffering constantly. Rhapsody, Pandora, SkyFM, all work fine
for me, though it would appear that, for the o.p. this particular issue
may not be entirely Rhapsody-related as it seems to work fine on his
other SB's.

I don't have a Boom, but if I did, I'd be tempted to power off the
Boom, stop and restart SBS/LMS, and possibly the router(s), and have a
go at it again to see if it was just some temporary issue with DNS or
the like.

the big thing is probably the dlna/upnp server functionality for revue

I just received the update to Android 3.1 for my Logitech Revue. Also,

Re: [slim] Boom Line In not working

2011-12-10 Thread Phil Meyer
If I set Line In as 'Always On' while connected to my local SB server
then I find that the line in always tends to work regardless of whether
I'm connected to a server or not. Any other setting and it's hit and
miss whether the line in will work while not connected to a server.

I assumed that setting would sample Line In all the time (never turns it off),
even when playing music. i.e. don't have to select to play Line In, could have
an empty playlist. However, I tried enabling that setting, and the Boom does
then seem to work when not connected to a server. It still only plays the
line-in signal if I select Line In from the menu.

When connected to a local music source however, the line-in is always passed
through to speakers, even when there is no local music currently playing (Now
Playing empty).

So I disabled the Always On setting, and now everything seems to be working
again as expected; only plays line in when the option is selected, even when
disconnected from a server.

Thanks for the tip.

I discovered the problem when I tried to move the Boom too far away from wifi
signal. I thought I'd enable line in whilst disconnected, but it didn't work
either - not very useful.

So now if I want to move Boom somewhere to use as an amp+speakers, I'll have to
check it works before moving it, and enable Always On to correct.

I'll play some more - perhaps the process of going through Setup, would reset
the line in status?

If I can find a pattern to the fault, I'll log a bug, but it probably won't get
looked at, unless the same fault occurs in Touch too?
