It is simple. The bit that throws most people who want to keep their
music on their NAS is mounting the share NFS or CIFS. There are examples
in the WiKi based on a Synology NAS but the principle is the same
whatever NAS you have.

I have 4 jogglers in play. All are flashed with the brislikewires image.
They are generally stable but like Paul I do find that they will freeze
from time to time. I just do a hard reboot - pull power, count to 20
reapply power. They are then usually stable for at least a month at a
time.

No. The Echo things are not upnp/dlna devices at all. Neither are they
Airplay or Chromecast capable. It's Amazon's own protocol.

In a word - No

NDX or NDX2
The 2 has built in AirPlay and Chromecast and therefore likely to work
with the relevant RAOPbridge or Castbrridge
Either should work with the upnp bridge but its also the fiddliest to
set up

My advice on this is to try to keep as mainstream as possible. If you do
do then youll find that every issue you come across will almost always
have surfaced somewhere else and been fixed.
2 years ago mainstream would have been something else but today it is
definitely piCorePlayer on a Pi. You w
Perhaps a DHCP server issue I.e. the Pi cant get an IP address. A
monitor will tell you but if you have no cable adapter do you have
another (old) router that you could fire up without internet and just
connect a PC and the Pi?

First rule of networking - check the cables are connected!
Second rule - check them again!
