that you've watched previously and carry on where you left it. All the disc menus etc still work though. As the whole setup is small, quiet and largely childproof (in as much as these things can be) the WAF is quite high too. -- xio

I'd second the 600mhz route. Running SuSE linux with 512mb. Web interface is a little slow but other than that it works just fine. FWIW I'm running 4 players off it too with no real problems. On the SB2 I don't even get stuttering during scanning as the buffer is so big. -- xio

about the aesthetics rather than just enjoying the music. The newer devices feel a bit more slick, but my slimp3 is still used on a daily basis without problems. Go for the sb1, but just be aware that you will feel compelled to buy more as time goes by -- xio

the quality of iTunes new purchases isn't as good, but the convenience of being able to download music on any machine in the house and have it available to the squeezeboxes in a very short time just works for us. As always, keeping things simple is best. -- xio

I don't think you even need to make the directories the same, just tick the use iTunes box. ALAC is now open source anyway, so one of the two main reasons for using flac falls away (the other being native decoding). -- xio
