Does it have safari? You could just try one of the mobile skins, if they
are included with your version of LMS. I don't have the latest, but I
used to use the Skin for Nokia770, or alternatively the Touch Screen.

Unless you've comfig'd it yourself, DNS is probably not running on the
Mac.
NetBios name resolution should be working tho.
Just 'cause it's easier and works - why not use a router?

Once that is done, use whatever Sync software is you pleasure.
I use SyncToy to back up to an occasionally attached USB drive on the
XP Pro PC from my music folder on a UBUNTU 11.04 shuttle PC.

Somewhere? Perhaps under serverbehaviour is a page full of itesm with
check boxes as to whether they are displayed or not. Not at home so
can't confirm - I had the same issue when I went to a 7.5.2 nightly.

There was a reason I went to the 7.4.2 nightly's after also trying 24/96
or 24/88.1 hi-rez files with 7.4.1. Can't remember why I did this, but
they play back fine with 7.4.2 - perhaps that's worth a shot?

are 01 - track name? Is it the hyphen that is different? And why does
this cause a problem. I assume all the tracks have tags containing
artist, album, name, etc.

Have you opened up TCP Port 9000 and whatever those other ones are?
Not sure where this is done with OSX, the version of SBS should be
irrelevant.

On WinXP you need LAME and Quicktime to play and remote stream m4a
files. Quicktime to transcode to FLAC on the fly (to stream locally),
and then LAME to transcode to mp3 for remote streaming, or to stream to
wireless mp3 players (Nokia tablets, cell phones etc).

In toolsoptions, application tab, what is set to handle JNLP files?
This is on FF 3.0, 3.0.3 *shouldn't* be that different. And how your
browser handles JAVA is just a guess on my part...

also check that java script and java are both enabled in the browser...
toolsoptions under the 'content' tab. My guess is that the browser
isn't recognizing the java files (JNLP) as java-coded packets
unrecognized octet-stream.

album is the same - ie NIN with Joe Blow is considered a different
album, then just NIN
Unless the iTunes files are .m4p (encyrpted DRM) SS should see them.

The iTunes library file - is it under the same account as BOTH the Slim
install and iTunes ripping? ie, is Slim reading the correct iTunes XML
file?
And are both music folder and playlist folder under Slim settings the
same? It is in my case, yours may differ.

Substituted the 770 skin with the touch skin - same behaviour. The dark
bar at the top behaves as it should, but the main body is unresponsive.
Just checked - renders OK, and behaves correctly in Mozilla FireFox on
the host PC.

Yes, using the sleep in this fashion does keep the current playlist, to
resume just hit play (twice?) on the remote.
How hard would it be to implement 'sleep' at the end of the NEXT song?
Sometimes when heading out the door, the 15min option is too long.

USB to the PC, then use SoftSqueeze from a web browser on the PC.
That should work. Sync'ing with your other players may or may not be
close - depends on buffers/caches etc.

You could also verify the MAC addresses are what they should be?
The Assigned DHCP Table from the router should show this - or perhaps
'arp -a' from a command window.
In another thread someone mentioned that Players sometime forget their
MAC address: clone themselves???

Do you have a firewall running? The ports (9000, 3483) must be allowed
in the local zone.
ie slimserver and scanner must have access from 127.0.0.1 (localhost).

Try re-entering the WEP. On my first attempt - not familar with the
response of remote, etc - I ended up with a space on the end of the
WEP. After experiencing what you describe, I did a factory reset start,
and re-entered everything - and she worked!

Also consider 'remote desktop' vice VNC. Not sure if is native on XP
but you should be able to get it from Micro$oft.

her 'Ashanti' etc over the SB. I have the 'use iTunes' checked, but
manage the iPOD with playlists within iTunes.
