The problem might be that LMS is starting before your USB drive is ready - so try to set "wait for USB" on the tweaks page to something like 10 sec. If that solves the problem you can try to reduce the wait time. /Steen piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [slim] Looking for advice on Rasperry Pi piCore Player set up
*Angelcardm:*I suppose. But if it's supposed to work by connecting to a laptop, I'd like to see that work. I still Think that attaching a screen in order to debug your issue would be the first and most simple step to follow. It will give you a lot of information, and you would know immediately whether pCP is running correctly or not and will print the correct IP address on the screen. You have already used a lot of time and are getting nowhere, adding a screen would really help you in the process. When you are up and running you dont need the screen anymore and you can simply remove it. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. I think it is doing fine (declaration: I not an audiophile in any way). The sound has been improved massively compared with the first kernels. So I suggest that you simply try it, and if it is fine, then you don't need to look any further. If you need amplification, then the IQaudIO DAC+ has a headphone amplifier build in. Re: [slim] a 3D printable enclosure for raspi A+ / JiveLite / piCorePlayer ?

I'm not a good CAD designer, but I can do a bit of design. I was thinking of only using available raspi accessories as I understand many do not want to do their own HW and I absolutely do not want to sell anything custom So, question: is there an interest for such a project and would some people here be willing to help for the CAD work either by doing some of it or proposing design ideas or do people prefer to put a raspi in an existing headless enclosure and use a remote UI ? Hi philippe. I think that would be a great idea. Maybe include some buttons and a rotary button for adjusting sound level? Greg and I have been discussing supporting a display for the piCorePlayer for some time now. But we have been reluctant because there are so many different screens so it would be difficult to support them all. Therefore, we have been following the discussion closely and waiting for the announcement of the official raspberry display: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63t=64041 https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44t=104630 http://raspi.tv/2014/raspberry-pi-official-7-inch-dsi-prototype-preview From what can be read the screen could be announced very soon - but then again the discussion started already in 2013!!! We have more or less decided to wait for this display. The advantage would be; It does not connect via HDMI, so the HDMI port is free for audio-out connection. It will probably be supported very well from the raspberry foundation, so the drivers are available and last but not least we would only have to support the official screen. For your project it probably also will be difficult to make a design that can fit several displays. So you will have to make a choice on which screen you are supporting. Hi. As you already stated, the raspberry can output I2S-data. There are two players build on raspberry and Triodes great Squeezelite player which might fit your needs: The piCorePlayer - a dedicated squeezebox player that transform the raspberry to something like a Squeezebox Duet. or The SqueezePlug system - which both can act as a player but also a LMS server. NB- I don't know if the I2S data is compatible with your Najda board, but both players support other boards (hifiberry DAC and Digi and ES9023 Cards) and Squeezeplug support the new Wolfson audio card for the raspberry. Re: [slim] Community Squeeze Logo
Thanks to pperse I found the correct fonts for my suggestion, and as he suggested it might also be better with the original colours. The thinking behind these logos (and names) are that they resemble the style from the SlimDevice logo, without being too similar and at the same time it incorporate the name from the Logitech Squeezebox years. A Slim Devise is something similar to a Squeezed box and could also be described as a Squeeze Device So for the coming 0.5 version of the wandboard player this could be a logo? 14649 +---+ |Filename: Squeeze3.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=14649| +---+ sbp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37237 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98339 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It is sort of split into two - the basis microcore system which is always untouched, and a special directory (TCE-direcory) where all the customization, scripts extra programs like ALSA, WiFi etc is saved. Saving to this directory is only done when you really want to save it like during making of the player, or during configuration of your player either using a script or possibly through a web-page like you have developed for the wandboard. In ordinary use you don't save anything to the sd-card and and everything is running in RAM. So even if you pull the power cord no damage to your software is happening. Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
I have been following this thread with interest. I don't know if you are familiar with the microcore linux, but maybe you should consider it for the basis of the new player. Microcore linux is a small linux (basis is only 8-12 MB), but it is possible to add the packages that you need. It is so small that it can be running entirely in RAM, and therefore no writing to the SD-card is done. You only write to the SD-card when you tell it to do so In addition, everytime it boots it is a fresh start, and the extensions and changes are added to the core, so there is no risk of corruption of the system or the card. I have build a small squeezelite player with microcore linux for the raspberry which is only 25 MB in total. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?97803-piCoPlayer-Squeezelite-on-Microcore-linux-An-embedded-OS-in-RAM-with-Squeezelite There seems to be ports to other ARMS as well - maybe it is worth considering? Hi I have the same problem as Castalla. The newest version worked fine a few times (I really don't remember if it only worked one time). But now it wont connect to the server, it seems to be connected, there is no wheel turning and if I look at the switch server setting it says it is connected. Then I killed the new version and started the old version 1.2.9, and this version is working fine, it connects without problems. (And all these problems have nothing to do with my previously reported wifi problems, as the wifi was working fine in the present experiment). I will send you a logcat file recorded during the above mentioned experiment. So in the first part of the logcat file, I have started Orange 1.3.0 (newest version) and tried to connect to my server (called Voyage) - as it did not connect, I killed orange 1.3.0, and started 1.2.9 wich connected fine to my server Voyage. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Orange Squeeze 1.0 for Android Released
Hi just tried the new version, still the same problem, that Orange does not restart wifi, if the smartphone was been idle for some time. It is a Samsung galaxy I9100 with Android 4.0.4. what happens is that the wifi symbol disapears from top ribbon on the Android - you know the place where you can se the battery status, 3g status etc. However, when I pull down the screen from the top, the wifi icon is still green. If I press the icon (top stop the wifi) and press again to enable it - the wifi icon re-appear next to the battery indicator and Orange can find the wifi. So it seems like Samsung put the wifi into sleep, when left unused for a long time, and Orange is not able to re-enable the wifi. Hope this is understandable. sbp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37237 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92330 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Possible to maintain internet radio list without Mysqueezebox.com?
Hi I was wondering if it would be possible for us to copy/maintain the list of streaming internet radio stations currently available through mysqueezebox.com? Somehow it should be possible, as we can add URLs of radio stations we wan't to listen to. Also LMS has the opportunity to use OPML lists, so what are keeping us from building a OPML list with the same or similar content? See here: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/OPML_support Offcourse I know that collecting and maintaining such a list would a huge task, but maybe we could have a centralized place for these URLs where members could add new stations and correct errors? I don't know excactly where the current list of radiostations are keept, it probably is somewher in the database. So would it be possible to retreive this lilst as a place to start? I think there could be two good reasons for this effort: 1. When/if Mysqueezebox.com closes we would already be prepared 2. By using this list we could be independent of Mysqueezebox com, and vereything could be run from your locally installed LMS (yes I know that the paid music streaming services still would need mysqueezebox.com), but it would be a start. sbp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37237 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96600 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The reason for my asking is, that I have bought a Raspberry board, and I will try to use it as a dedicated player using SqueezePlay. I have better success with synchronizing if I use SqueezPlay as compared with SquuezeSlave, because the latter needs to transcode some of my radio streams to 44100, which is not needed if I use SqueezePlay. [slim] Grooveshark support
Hi I would like to know if a developer might help in adding support for grooveshark. I know that many would like to see this supported. I found this plugin which enable grooveshark support inside MediaPortal, maybe a developer could have a look and maybe find some useful information that could be used for adding Grooveshark support to Squeezebox as well.
