You said that Browse Music Folder is the only way you can navigate
your collection - I took that to mean that your files didn't have any
tags in them, since if they did there are various ways (search

I use Leopard OS X with iTunes and wanted a way to browse music folders
without adding media to iTunes. So I figured I would set Slimserver to
use iTunes AND scan a folder as well which I could then browse.
The folder is on an external FW drive. The media was added but I could

Symlinks don't work. Music gets added but it's not browseable.

The option wont be there if you have no folder set (in settings) and you
are using MusicIP or iTunes integration.

I usually find what I want to play by browsing through my music folder
filesystem, since I've arranged it in a certain hierarchy. Weirdly,
this morning that option was completely missing from the Music Library
portion of my controller. It displays only
Artists
Albums
Genres
Years
New Music
I restarted the squeezecenter server and the controller--the menus is
back to normal. I don't know why that would have happened though.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but have you put in an entry for
the Music Library under Server Settings (rather than just pulling info
from Itunes or MusicIP)?
Browse Music Folder won't work unless you point Slimserver directly at
the Library.
BMF also worked ok for me in 6.5.4 and
