Come to think of it, I usually only see the number of 'Deezer Albums' listed during the scan in the 980's - never over 1000. Same with Artists. Guess I never thought about that part. There indeed is a max of 1000 items per list. With a comment I left 9 years ago "# XXX - to be fine tuned..." :-) But besides that I'm seeing a lot of failed connections to Deezer in the log files. LOL, yes I'm probably who you're thinking of. We also had discussions regarding your Band's Campout plugin for the same reason. Deezer has a hard cap of 2000 'favorite' albums using their app/site. I use this like BandCamp's 'Wishlist'. Come to think of it, I usually only see the number of 'Deezer Albums' listed during the scan in the 980's - never over 1000. Same with Artists. Guess I never thought about that part. I use the 'New Music' menu 98% of the time as a way of sorting the albums in a reverse chronological order they were added so I can review them. These are albums & artists I see discussed in music forums, etc. This is handy since I probably won't remember the artist or album title several days later when I get a chance to actually listen to them. When compelling enough, I'll buy physical or download copies and remove them from Deezer Favorites/Bandcamp Wishlist *Player: *1 x Transporter w/Trans-knob, 2 x Touch (Active, 3 x Spares), 4 x Boom (Active, 9 x Spares) *Server: *1 x Win Server (ESXi 6.x) w/LMS, 1 x HP 24" Touch Screen PC w/LMS & SqueezePlay *Control: *4 x w/iPeng, 1 x Samsung Note 4, 3ea x Fire 7", 8 tablets, 1 x 10" all w/SqueezeCtrl & Player (Angry Goat) *Audio: *Mark Levinson 23.5 Amp, 380s Pre, 390s CD, B 801 II, Acoustic Energy AE-2 signature, SOTA Sapphire table Computer geek/tech hoarder(!), and DAMN I love the LMS/Squeeze infrastructure! markm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65015 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99132 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

So if during this polling the 'lack of account information' error occurs, this then triggers the music rescan which causes LMS to remove any entries provided by Deezer and resets the flag to stop it from polling Deezer in the future - correct? Yes, that would happen. We'd have to double check whether "failure to get account information" is treated the same as "lack of account information". But I'm sorry, I probably won't have time to check this in the next few weeks. ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
From what I see, scans of the online library happen every hour and in my experience the issue is random. It does a poll to figure out whether a scan is required every hour. But the scan itself should only happen if something about your online library has changed (new albums/playlists/etc. added). Is there a way to have scanner.log contain multiple days of info, or does it always only contain the most recent scan? Just a guess, but I'm assuming the line with *'Disabling polling for Slim::Plugin::Deezer::Plugin lack of account information'* is significant Indeed! This should only ever happen if LMS checked for the existence of a Deezer account on MySB, and that request returned successfully, but empty. That should be logged in scanner.log - unless you run another scan since. Every LMS installation has its own internal website which listens on port 9000 by default, so it can always be reached there. So for instance if your normal web address for Daphile shows as: http://daphile/cgi-bin/AudioPlayer change it to http://daphile:9000 or http://daphile:9000/default This will show LMS's normal 'default' internal website skin which is named 'default'. >From here, the skin LMS shows when navigating to :9000 can be changed at any time using the 'Interface' tab, 'Web Interface' selection. *NOTE:* This option is hidden if you try to access it via Daphile's 'Advanced Media Server Settings' option - the developer would have to chime in if changing this setting affects Daphile somehow. 36569 As an FYI, you can navigate to any of the installed skins, at any time, by adding the name to the end: Try these: http://daphile:9000/classicorhttp://daphile:9000/fror even http://daphile:9000/material/ Lastly, many people using Daphile/LMS use a smart device with an app installed to actually use the system. Hi to all, yesterday I updated Daphile on different music server: Server 1: Daphile 20:12 Update goes straight whitout any problems Daphile start correctly. But LMS didn't start and finally crash. I reset three times Daphile to the latest firmware defaults and start over with the same results. I was able to get LMS started by leaving most of the plugins at default. It seems that after a restart LMS got difficulties to open. This server had an internal music storage and the OS installed on a SSD. Server 2: Daphile 20:12 Update installed whitout any issues. As soon as we restart the server LMS takes at least 20m to open, but hopefully no crash. This server is configured with an internal storage and the Daphile OS is installed on m2 internal drive. The internal music storage is mounted correctly and available for browsing. Server 3: Daphile 20:12 Update installed whitout any issues. LMS start as usual even after several server restart. This server is configured with a m.2 storage having both the OS and the music storage. it seems that LMS is looking for the music storage... I never got this problem with LMS, I used LMS since 2005. When you make a correction you are attempting to force the sound profile to fit an ideal curve, maybe flat, maybe harmon curve or some other "ideal". To do this the correction will reduce the voume of peaks and increase the volume of troughs throughout the audio spectrum. Sometimes the increase in a trough maybe too much for the amplifier (or speakers) to handle and can cause clipping. By reducing the overall gain you give the system leeway to increase the volume of the troughs but still to stay under 0db. When you are getting a peak of +2.66db I think that is referring to the amount of boost to a particular frequency that is needed to cancel out a trough, and is a guldeline to the overall gain that you should be applying to avoid peaking over 0db. i.e. -2.68db. foxesden's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99132 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Hi, emss wrote: > > Just found time to experiment. > Follow up, one year later... I've managed to fix the touchscreen offset. The thread where this post was written https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?110040-Jivelite-on-a-Joggler=932654=1#post932654 gave me an insight on the way lua, libSDL & libTS work together. I've added the following to /usr/local/bin/jivelite.sh Code: export TSLIB_FBDEVICE=/dev/fb0 export TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/event3 export TSLIB_CALIBFILE=/usr/local/etc/pointercal export TSLIB_CONFFILE=/usr/local/etc/ts.conf export TSLIB_PLUGINDIR=/usr/local/lib/ts export SDL_MOUSEDRV=TSLIB export SDL_MOUSEDEV=$TSLIB_TSDEVICE export JIVE_NOCURSOR=1 TSLIB_TSDEVICE is found by inspecting the link in /dev/input/by-id/ libSDL has to use TSLIB mouse driver and TSLIB_TSDEVICE to get correct position events from the touchscreen. The only remaining issue was related to /etc/pointercal generation via ts_calibrate (termination on malloc error), so I did install a minimal Debian, added libts-bin, then ran ts_calibrate and saved the resulting pointercal file. After pointercal was copied to /etc on a fresh daphile-20.08-b040759-x86_64 install, everything worked flawlessly. I guess I could try to reach Kimmo to see whether this could be refined and added to the settings (input device & driver choice, touchscreen calibration). Hi @Kipeta Ive been using LMS off and on for sometime but never Daphile. Installed the latest Daphile beta to try it out and its really quite a polished product. Thank you One question though - the artist album sorting order is different from the regular LMS installation. I do have some non english album artists in my library and they typically are sorted in/after Z. In Daphile - I have some chinese artists appearing all over the place. I removed all my artistsort tags in the past - so shouldnt be due to the problem with tags. Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Hi kipeta, this is related to my wave input question on FB. I have installed as suggested the Wavinput plugin to check if it does what I want, and in theory it does. I know you haven't used this plugin, but maybe you have still an idea: The plugin has not much configuration, only pointing to the right ALSA device, usually "wavin:default" should do the job, but it isn't. That's why I used ssh to get to the to the arecord and alsamixer, but still struggling. The developer of wavinput thinks there might be something deactivated by you, or some permissions not set (e.g. user running arecord not member of the audio group). I know this is not really related to your main software and I'd understand if you say you don't give support on that. Would be still great if you could have a look into this thread, maybe you have an idea: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?49584-Announce-WaveInput-for-Linux=862622=1#post862622 Thanks! ant!'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66046 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99132 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Hi, i just noticed when playing ALAC files the trancoding via FFmpeg kills the HDCD flag/content. I've read that FFmpeg 3.1 has support for it. Is it possible the FFmpeg module in the next beta/final ? Would be fine because then I don't must change all my HDCD ALAC files to FLAC again. Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
I'm a developer and interested in modifying daphile. I followed several discussions about daphile related to the GPL and open source. 1. Under what terms/license is daphile released? Daphile credits all open source packages it uses, but the terms under which the daphile webinterface is released are not very clear. I don't find it anywhere on the daphile site. 2. Is daphile a derived work? The website mentions "Daphile is based on the open source Squeezebox Server, SqueezePlay and Linux.". Playing with a recent beta, daphile incorporates an LMS gui in it's own webinterface (using LMS 7.9) and a recent squeezelite 1.8. So it needs LMS as server and squeezelite as player and also recycles the LMS webinterface in his own GUI. So to have a working daphile program that can play music, it needs existing open source packages to function. 3. Several discussions on other forums state that the daphile source is closed/proprietary, but I can read all shell scripts? The program that makes up the webinterface (several bash scripts) are plaintext, no compiled proprietary binaries? So the source is already open for anyone to read. 4. Why close down a linux distro to restrict modifications? I had to download the beta to be able to SSH into daphile, as the stable versions do not have a console or SSH enabled. I could also use a recovery CD to add a console/SSHD to the stable version. This is very annoying. Vortexbox and almost all other distributions that contain LMS or squeezelite (like picoreplayer) allow SSH. Combining (2) and (3) I assume under the GPL, this can be classified as a derived work, which makes Daphile also OSS. Ah! I'm used to installing this plugin in the past, when I got no sound I figured thats what it was. The first system I made used a old M-Audio usb recording interface I once used, it had no mixer with the windows drivers so that must be why it worked straight away. This one was again using an old M-Audio interface but firewire and has mixer software. Daphile recognised it but no sound. So with these interfaces the mixer on should be ticked, is that what you are saying? It has 4 RCA Outputs, will Daphile pickup Outputs 1 +2 by default? Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Hi! I'm trying Daphile on a Zotac Ci320. Daphile (versione 15.03-b270858-x86_64) is installed on the internal SSD and all seems to work grate BUT an annoying thing. Many of my music files are on a NAS and are in flac format. I usually select the album that I want to play browsing this network drive with the Music Folder option: then on the folder I click on the play icon to add all the tracks to my playlist. It happens very often that the first track is not reproduced. It seems that Daphile doesn't recognize the first file as a flac file, but an unknown binary file. Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Normally, you wouldn't work this way. Have you tried scanning your NAS content to the library and then navigating from Album, Artist etc. instead? mauri_va wrote: Hi! I'm trying a Daphile setup of a friend of mine. It's installed on a SSD drive connected to a ASRock Q1900dc ITX board. I have my M-DAC connected through one of the USB ports and Daphile recognized it immediately. But I hear small plops in the music stream. The plops are at irregular intervals. I tried with different USB cables to rule out a bad cable. Did anyone experienced this behavior? What could be wrong here? Also check the default CPU setting - it may have been misconfigured on boot. You can set to a fixed rate or dynamic. Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
There a development version with a 3.19 (over 3.18.7) kernel. http://www.daphile.com/tmp.qSPQbWD3rw/ Goto [player name]/cgi-bin/Devel for a hidden menu where you can drop the link. Maybe give that a go.. Failing that, maybe try Squeezeplay instead of Squeezelite (although I've never seen an specific issue with Squeezelite) or post up your settings just in case I've missed something. Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Hi, I want to build a LMS for mobile use (outdoor parties, camping) with one of these devices: http://www.intel.eu/content/www/eu/en/nuc/nuc-kit-de3815tykhe.html Features: * 12 V * Intel Atom processor E3815, 1.46 GHz single core, 5 W TDP * 4-GB eMMC storage device built in (for root file system) * Internal support for 2.5-inch HDD (for music library) Three questions so far: 1. What is the minimum size for the daphile root file system? I guess the 4 GB built in storage is enough? 2. I want to add an USB WiFi dongle in access point mode. Where can I configure the access point SSID and password? I could not find anything about it in the settings of my home daphile server. 3. Which USB WiFi dongles are recommended? Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Hello I have a new musicserver (Zotac ZBOX nano CI320/Daphile 64-bit x86) . I tested everything with my laptop and booting from usb-stick with sucess before. I have now the problem , that after doing a shutdown or restart the server hangs .I got last message (alt + F2): *remounting remaining filesystems readonly [ok]* . It is the same if i do that over the webui or the powerbutton. The only way to stopp the server is to push the powerbutton for several seconds . Only after doing this the server/PC shutdown . Is there a solution for this issue ? Hi Kipeta Can you please advise how I can ssh into my daphile box to add the Super Date and Time patch? As per http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?14327-Announce-SuperDateTime-Current-Date-Temperature-and-or-Baseball-Screensaver/page313 I am running Daphile version: 14.12-b311150-x86_64. Previously we were able to access it via a pre-release version of the daphile software. Thank you I'm going crazy without my SDT. :) pufnstuf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99132 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Call for testers! Daphile
Good project, so far the best lms + player integration. But no console, no ssh, is an ugly thing. There's no support for bluetooth dongle, it could be usefull for additionnal players (something like a portable squeezebox boom for kitchen or bathroom). And, it can be added without console / ssh /telnet : so bad. The rest of this project is impressive. enestu's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37825 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99132 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
