I've not had any issues with gapless. What kind of files FLAC, MP3 ect.
? Are your running the latest released 7.7.1 or either an older
release or a beta? Have you double checked your transcoding settings?
What about the crossfade settings? After that I'm not sure what it
would be. But it's

Hmmm. I'll have to test but I have never noticed any issues with
synched players and gapless.

Actually syncing only works robust, when songs are played gapless.
Otherwise a resync is needed on each song start.
Are you playing mp3?
In my experience the individual compression leads to very small audible

Is there something like gapless mp3 songs? I can't really get mp3 to
play completely gapless, indeed, but I thought that was an mp3

I'm using 160-256kbps AAC for everything. I have not changed any formats
or re-ripped anything recently. The very same files that worked
flawlessly before, now don't. And they still work flawlessly if I play
back through iTunes, or on my iPhone.
And it is not so much a glitch, but rather the
We don't have gapless AAC support (in the newer players), although maybe
with faad transcoding it's gapless, don't think I've tried to be
honest.
MP3 should be gapless if properly encoded with LAME from a gapless
source.

What is faad transcoding, and how do I get it?
What was the last version that still played AAC gaplessly, and how do I
downgrade if this faad whatchamacallit doesn't work out?

faad transcoding is what happens whenever your device doesn't support
AAC natively.
You can enforce it in the server settings by disabling native under
Settings-Advanced-File Types-AAC in the server's web interface.
