John I'm not a technician but i'll suggest to check what's wrong ( common tube stuff such as power supply caps, rotary switches and tube sockets cleaning  etc etc ) before any mod . I've just repaired mine ( it was a tube fault, nothing serious ) and it work like a charm. I don't have any mod

I know the feeling John...that's why i mainly use my C line , my Geloso line and used to listen through with my Hammarlund Sp-600 . I do have modern rigs but ..knobs and switches is lots of fun and yes, they perform very nice, still ! Enjoy your old lads  ! '73 de Adrian iz3svi - Messaggio

Hello everyone This's a real sad day for me as my beloved R-4C is dead. It was perfectly working yesterday night while i was listening a local net on 80m but today i can't listen anything. So i checked if tube heaters glow...and they do. I've cleaned the Mode switch with Deoxid D5 ...No
