Pete,
Your question has already been answer
I replaced the three-section electrolytic in my R-4 with no major
problems (that Drake chassis is a huge heat sink - make sure you're
using a big iron/gun).
After trying to tackle the filter cap removal from my Drake 1A, I began
looking for 200-watt soldering irons. I was (and still am) in sh

Pete,
Your question has already been answered before I got home, BUT I will say two
things that the others didn't. Tom, at Hayseed Hamfest, AND his family go out
of their way to be sure that you get exactly what you need, at a reasonable
price and do it all in a friendly manner and QUICKLY!! I

There were two versions of the T-4XB transmitter, but the C129 / C140
was the same in both. 60uF @ 250 and 10 uF @ 10V. A direct
replacement is available from .
Both schematics are on my Service Supplement CD for the B-Line (along
with all three of the R-4B). You might find the p
Hi Pete,
This guy has a multi-section cap available for the T-4XB. It looks like
it may be the correct cap (similar values). I have not done business
with him, but I have heard good things about him.

The can electrolytic which I believe is a combination of C129 and C140 was
removed from the T4XB and a metal plug was fitted to the chassis.

First try adjusting the VOX Delay and Anti-VOX pots. If either is set
too far it can cause the relay to stay pulled in. Set VOX Gain max CW,

Hello fellow Drake owners,
In trying to resurrect the t4xb, I find the thing will not un-key. I've
checked and adjusted everything. Looking at the schematic,
