[Dx4win] ADIF County Conversion v 1.5 released

2004-10-12 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
ADIF County Conversion v1.5 is released. I changed the version numbering
scheme so it matches my revision control system.

This version has the following changes:

1. PA QSO Party is supported. I tested with NA and Writelog.

2. Added some callsign checking to avoid trying to convert an exchange which
is not likely to be a US county. If you get warnings that don't make
sense,
 let me know.

3. Longer-than-expected abbreviations should be converted. For example,
SMAT (San Mateo) is an acceptable abbreviation for SM (official
abbreviation).

4. The NA comment: field includes trailing spaces, but they are now ignored.

5. Version 0.3 created the ADIF VE_PROV field but this version does not.
 Does anyone care?

Let me know of any problems or feature requests.

I've tried counties.exe with both my CAQP and PAQP log from Writelog and
everything worked well. Imported into DX4WIN and all the county and state

[Dx4win] Strange:DX4WIN accessible via another ISP !

2004-10-12 Thread Radivoj KAR
Hi,
Thanks to all sending me info on accessibility on their end. I tried to
connect using my old PSTN ISP account and wonder: over this provider I can
access the site.
But, it still remains inaccessible via my hi speed cable ISP (UPC). This
happens after I have replaced old 512kbps cable modem with a new 2048 kbps
modem they sent me a week ago.

Is it some inhibition of the access string by the modem because it is
similar to some command in a new modem, is it possible that ISP filters
access to the site, or something happens in my Windows2000PRO/Explorer v.6
related to the selection of DX4WIN site via this ISP?

Any suggestions ?

You may also be infected with Ad Ware or Spy Bots or Spy Ware (have heard it
called all three names). Sometimes they will cause your browser to
re-direct. Suggest you get either Adaware, or Spy Bot (both free and they
can be found using google search) to clean your system. Which ever one you
get, keep it up to date and scan every so often. I like the new Ad-A-Ware
personal edition (free).

Tom,
I agree with you and thought of that also, but the adware/spyware,
etc, usually hijacks your home page. He says he can reach some web
sites OK but not DX4WIN. I believe if it was an adware problem he
could not get ANY web sites OK without being redirected by the
spyware/adware.
Anyway, it was a good idea but may not be the problem.
