Re: [Dx4win] LotW Backlog continues to grow ...

2012-12-11 Thread Rich Kloidt
I am not too sure just because Green Stamps are attached to submissions
speeds up the process.
I submitted my first ONLINE DXCC log on 1 Nov 2012. Pre paid with my credit
card and just checked its status yesterday.
I found It listed in the huge listing with the rest of the world wide
submissions. Not sure when it will be processed because in that list,
everyone is in there alphabetically by call sign.
Just because you can submit your DXCC log online, like LOTW, doesn't seem to
speed things up.

Note: All award submissions are fast because dollars are
includedSimple... My DX Challenge was approved in hours! Somehow
anything with money attached spits out first!!
Maybe, try attaching a Green Stamp to your LOTW submission!

LOTW is still better than surface mail unless the DX isn't on LOTW due to
the insane sign up procedure..Try sitting in your Yurt in Mongolia waiting
for your 'postcard' from LOTW to show up!

Not sure how "current" their delay announcements are, as a CQWW log uploaded
on 12/1 has yet to be processed.

But on the other hand, DXCC submissions via LoTW are super-fast. Submitted
my "annual" update last evening at 8:40 and had all accredited at 9:49.

So some parts are working well

Re: [Dx4win] LOTW Not Found in Log

2012-12-11 Thread Loren Hunt
I have had this happen multiple times. 90% of the time it is a stateside call
that signed mobile or portable during the QSO. Then they upload the log as
fixed. So it looks like LoTW will confirm a QSO if one party logs as /M and the
other does not so long as the other data is correct. I have never seen this on
a DX QSO so no big deal for me. It might be important for someone working on a
WAS award.

Use the last item under the LOTW menu "review QSOs not found"  I can almost
guarantee they are in your log but some of the information doesn't match.
Probably because the other party has shifted QTH, changed their location
details and re uploaded their whole log busting everything they had done
previously so now you have new conflicting information from previous
imports.  Unless it is very important to you this phenomenon will do your
head in trying to figure which is correct.  See for your self but in every
case this is what I found was going on.

I recently downloaded my latest LOTW Log Confirmation and imported into
Dx4Win. I have a number of call as "NOT Found in Log".

1.       Does this  mean they are confirmed in LOTW, but not in my Dx4win
Log?

2.       If so, Can I run an Import that brings them into Dx4win or do I
have to manually enter them?

If it's not in my log, that's that.
I would never enter a QSO into my
log because it's in someone else's log.
