The contest occurs on the same weekend as the RSGB Commonwealth
contest (BERU) which runs from 1000z Saturday 11th to 1000z on the

Commonwealth as they cannot have QSOs anyway,

You should be looking for some other cause of this 'flakiness' - something
is causing the microprocessor to execute a routine that it should not - it
could be coming from a glitch on the pushbutton matrix, a bad solder

Hi Lyle (and others),
I understand what you are saying (why shouldn't the QRO op get extra credit for
working a QRPp station), but I believe that the power multiplier applied to the
sending station is an attempt to:

Hello all,
Here's the status on the K6XX CW Indicator Kit and SMD Holder.
1.The parts have been shipped by Mouser, but the colored ribbon cable
was back ordered so I changed to non-color ribbon cable. They will ship
it today.
2.I found plenty of wire stock to make the SMD Holders, but there's

If the QRP transmitter gets the multiplier, it is incentive for them to
stay low.
If the guy who works him gets the multiplier, it is incentive for him to
dig out the weak ones.
How about having multipliers for the QSO, not for one station or the
other. No multiplier if both stations are QRO.
I worked you with K2/100 #1626 at 2127Z on the 26th.
Glad you had fun...I hope to do something like that
before I get too old and creaky to do it.

I would say keep the rules simple since I'd bet most of us are at best
casual contesters.
The exchange itself should be straightforward and uncomplicated, but that
doesn't necessarily mean minimalist. I want to know where the guy is, what
he is running and the Elecraft serial number. Otherwise
I have been given a four-band board for the K1, and it's
surplus to my needs. The original owner says he botched
assembling it. I have not tried to diagnose the
problem(s) or to repair it. It's fully wired for 40, 30, 20
and 17 meters. The 15m crystal is included, as is the
manual. Again: As
Thanks for the responses, gang, but the board has been

From time to time, mainly in trying to copy a weak signal with the 400 or
100Hz filter I would like to change the side tone note to contrast with the
ringing note caused by the high noise level through the filter.
My question is

Yes, they are unrelated. Same thread, different message mentioned
noisy pots. I replied to both as they are both of interest here.

I'm using a friend's K2. It runs about 3.4 amps transmit with dial lite
on. Has all the options. This is over an amp more than the book allows,
but with all those options is it about normal?
The rig seems to work fine.

You have other means to find out that multiplier: Callbook CD,
Prefix in call-sign or ask the station during contact.
Perhaps, but I like this addition. Many stations will be using low
power, with which it can be exciting to
