Hi Folks,
I must have sent this announcement a dozen times with each of them
getting bounced back to me. Now three of them have landed on the
Reflector. Well it is better for at least one to get through than for
none. I'll figure this out when my life is less hectic. Hopefully in a
Since I am off tomorrow I should be able to check into both nets. At least
I can TRY to check in. I'll attempt with the K1 first on 20M with 5W and
switch to the K2/100 if necessary.
This will be my first Elecraft QNI since I first got my K2 last year!
Looking forward to hearing everyone
Hi
Thanks for the replies to my earlier post - can someone confirm that
when cycling through SSbC from 1-1 to 4-1 what the states of the three
compressor pins COMP0/COMP1/COMP2 are please?
COMP0 seems to be permanently at LO - anyway thanks for the help Looks
like a dead chip!

Hello,
First of all I would like to wish everyone a Prosperous New Year.
Some of the QRP Polar Bears are going to be out operating on the QRP
frequencies + or - due to QRM today. Look for the Polar Bears between 16:00
and 18:00 UTC. KC0SYS will be on the SSB QRP Freq.

For some reason, this message from, Kevin (KD5ONS) kept bouncing when
he attempted to send it. So I'm posting it on his behalf.
One thing Kevin didn't mention below... if you're in/on the Net and
happen to hear someone attempting to check in while the NCS continues

I probably won't be home in time for the net. I am presently in
Indianapolis, where I'm being charmed by my granddaughters6 year old
twins and their 2 year old sister. We will be home later tonight...Happy
New Year to All.

They start all high for SSBC 1-1, then COMP2 goes low, then COMP2 + COMP1,
until all three are low for
Hi Thomas,
I'm very happy with my Diamond 600N, which I chose after reading the reviews
on eham.com. You might want to read them yourself. The Diamond offers a
lot of flexibility with three power ranges and a separate vhf/uhf input. In
any case, do get an analog meter. It will be much
I would normally agree with you about the analog display John, and
that's why my LP-100 digital wattmeter project has a bargraph analog
display as well as numerical readout, and it is MUCH faster than an
analog meter... fast enough to follow voice peaks. The LP-100 has 36 bar
segments, and
I just finished the KIO2 module. I tried sending CW using the KY command
in HyperTerminal and it works fine. In MixW I tried sending CW via CAT
command and it doesn't work. PTT, however, does work. I do have the CW via
CAT command checkbox selected in options. I'm using the latest MixW
program.
Hi Kevin - yes, MixW can send CW directly with KY commands - I've played
with it in the past - but - it's been so long ago that I don't remember the
details! As I recall it was a matter of getting the correct syntax in the
cw messages. Stay with it, it will work! HNY - 73 -- Don N4HH

After returning from a rather long hiatus from ham radio, I discovered an
obscene amount of interference on the ham bands. I later learned that it
was largely the result of 6 Ethernet'ed computers in the house with cat 5
wiring running all over, and 3 runs going through the ham shack.

Hi everyone,
I've finished (for now) my experiments in getting 10 meters on my
K1. It seems to be working pretty well, both on receive and
transmit. I have it up to about 4.5 watts output. I'm sure that can
still be improved but I've decided to give it a rest for now.
Here are all the
Anyone out there using this program. I am having trouble getting an
picture
to display. Don't have a clue what I am doing wrong. I can tune the signal
in according to the directions, but no received picture is displayed.

Happy new year all!
I am looking at the PLL Frequency Stability at 7182
kHz sheet which says Alternately insert the internal
counter probe into TP1 (VCO) and TP3 (PLL reference
oscillator) and make sure they indicate the same
frequency (in the 12 mHz range).
Here are my frequencies:
TP1: 12092.59
Please disregard previous message.
Seems to be okay now.

Good Evening and Happy New Year to you all,
Sorry folks but I had to be reminded it was a holiday today. I had
been very busy all day on chores, working on lists, invitations, and
planning for a memorial service. I have not announced this to anyone
other than those who have asked but I
I have a dumb question. I have a BL1. It has three connectors in which
to make a connection. If I want to use 300 ohm or 450 ohm feedline,
which connectors am I supposed to use? The connectors are marked 1,
GND and 2. Would I use the same connectors for a dipole versus a loop?
Thanks,
James
