[Elecraft] Simultaneous audio out digital out for K2 -- safe?

2006-03-06 Thread Cathy James
With my Alinco DX-70TH, I have become used to using the waterfall spectrum display to zero-beat CW signals. Just spin the tuning knob until the signal is sitting on the beat frequency, and you're tuned. I also like to use my ears to get a rough find on PSK and other digital signals. Both

And if you take two FT-243 xtals and tape them upside down and back to back you can electrically switch between two crystals at a time and flip them over mechanically for a total of 4 frequencies (if there is headroom for the pins that will be sticking above the top of the crystal that is

Cathy, I don't know how much your soundcard would load down the speaker line (I would tend to believe not much), but you certainly should not hurt anything, so give it a try. If you want a separate audio output line for the soundcard, take a look at the K2 Fixed Audio Output article on my

I use a Y cable plugged into the headphone jack. Worth a try. 73 de NA8M John Both are these are very easy with that setup because I get audio out of the speaker *and* audio into the sound card at the same time. The K2 cuts off the speaker when I insert the cable into the ext speaker jack,

Pat, The frequency is the problem - the microprocessor is waiting to see a frequency near 12100 kHz. Go back and check the PLL range to see if the frequency is correct at the high end of the range. If PLL high is OK, then look carefully at the capacitors in the VFO Range Select area are correct

[Elecraft] Wider IF modification for SSB

I found a whitepaper written by K16WX that discusses various modifications to the K2 to widen the IF. I do a lot of digital mode operations. Widening the the IF would let me scan through a wider AF window. I have a very recent K2, complete just last month. If I understand the document, I
