Dennis,
First of all, you voltage is dropping a full volt (unless that was a typo),
and strange readings like that are usually the result of poor solder
connections. Reflow all your solder connections, adding a bit of flux from
new solder to wet the joint. You should be doing the reflow with an

FWIW, I was one of the first to experiment with this. I developed an approach
that worked well for me, and here it is.
Understand, the mission is to minimize the inductance of the connection. The

Hi Kevin
The N7WG Bill? you show is actually me.
N0SS miscopied my call when I checked in.
I was working on my antennas and tuning
across the band when I heard the net, so
decided to check in, just for the heck of it :-)
Was QRU, so just went on with my antenna work.

Hello,
Is any chance to connect (interface) ts-850s with transverter for 2m (Elecraft
XV144) without special mods?
Can someone write some easy how to.
Thank You

I did it with my XV220 several years ago, with no complications and
it worked fine. I don't
Bob,
Unless the polarizing strip is flexible as well as the protective strip,
I'd have to say no. Any other ideas in regards to my viewing problem? I
could try cutting away at the IC socket and resoldering the pins from
the back to see if that helps any.

Have a look to the owner manual (download). I believe, you will find
everthing you want. They describe how to use the transverter with
no-K2-Transceiver.
For my part, I use the XV144 with a K2.

I need some advice from a K2'er who has used the K2 and a PK-232 for Pactor
I.
1) The PK-232 has not yet been set up for HF and the 232 instructions
mention using a monitor, which I don't have, when checking the level of the
AFSK pot on the 232 and the AF gain on the K2.
2) Also, how does one

The only way the rest of us are going to ever get any use out of
the band is to use it and generate some CQ's. Otherwise the DX'ers
will continue having their way.
Isn't this true on every band? That's why we
have QRP calling frequencies away from the mainstream
DX areas.
Dave,
My K2 also produces clicks on 40m which disappear if the antenna is
disconnected or turned away from strong BC stations above 7100 kHz. Running
CAL PLL has not cured the problem, and I have since found the same problem
on 15m. It might exist on other bands but I have not had the time to

Dennis,
That should be OK - 0.06 amps plus a 0.16 amp increase is 0.22 Amps, just
like the manual indicates.
OTOH, I am concerned about the fact that the displayed voltage drops so
much. If you have a 'wimpy' power supply connected that might be expected,
but if your power supply is
