I've been working with Gary (Elecraft) on a 6M low transmit power
output problem. I have ben checking solder connections in the 6M BPF
area and taking voltage readings. I have had to power up and power
down the K3 several times during this process. There were no problems
until the last power
Anybody have the band data cable working? I carefully wired mine up
but no go. Sure would be nice to KNOW it can be made to work.

Due to health problems I am seling K-3 100 #609.
This rig has the 13khz, 6khz, 2.7 khz ans 500hz filters installed. also

Hi,
I don't think this is a problem with K3 at all. All you need to do for split
operation is to start by pressing A-B when on the DX' TX frequency. Now
both VFOs have the same frequency and modes. Enable SPLIT. Now you can start
hunting for (or guessing) the DX' listen frequency, once you find

You're right David, I'd like to listen on VFO B and transmit on VFO A. I
could do this on the K2. The reason I'd like to do it is because my antenna
tuning is based on the VFO A frequency. When you have big splits, you really

I do not use any kind of computer control/interface. I am not strong in
this area, and have been holding off on more firmware upgrades until the
dust settles a little bit.
I have decided to run field day as a 5 watt battery station using my K3,
BL2 Balun, 44 ft doublet fed with 22 ft of window line, an old tandy DOS
computer for logging, a home brew white LED lamp and a 105 amp hour RV
battery. I measure K3 rec at 1.06A. K3 TX at 3.15A, LCD lamp at .10A,
