From what I can see the only amateur transceiver that meets the
requirement is the FT-817, so we'd all better rush out and buy one of
those... Perhaps it has something to do with QRP power levels, having
had an FT857D, I won't be in the queue to buy an 817.

While listening the K2 just cut off. When I try to turn it on, the lcd

The power supply voltage is fine and there are no external fuses blown.
Where should I look first?

Ron,
It sounds like something is drawing excessive current in your K2 and
causing the resettable fuse to open.
Open the K2 and check the resistance from the Q7 and/or Q8 collectors to
ground. It will normally be in excess of 1500 ohms, but if it measures
low (100 ohms or so) I would wager
What should the resistances between poles of Q7 Q8 be?

Hello Ron,
I forwarded the apparent discrepancy to the authors of the CAP / AF MARS

I received an amazingly fast and friendly response which basically says
that section 5.2.2.2 in the Redbook are General Standards which only

A bit early in the game to build a list but here goes...
-THE DSP NR WORKS...amazing concept I guess.
-QSK is amazing...sucked on the OII
-Shift and width controls amazing compared to Pass band tuning that the OII
called it.
- Receive quality really appeals to my ears...OII never sounded this
