Any and all with the 2 meter module;
After a longish wait, my K3 came back to my QTH, all the circuits
had been checked out, upgraded, revamped, firmware fine. I put it on
the desk, attached my antennas, then went to the 144 MHz band - all but
expecting to have it work like a dedicated 2
Hi guys,
can somebody tell me what Heil capsule is in the ProSet K2 that Elecraft sells?
HC-4 or HC-5?
Thanks vy 73, Olli - DH8BQA

Olli,
It is neither, it is an electret type, so it needs bias.
The last response curve I saw for that element showed that the response
is similar to the HC-5.

Gil,
Be sure your 2 mtr antenna is hooked to the correct bnc. Push the RX Ant
button so you see PRE. I used the K3 memory manager to input the freqs and
offsets. The 2 meter set up doesn't have all the conveniences of a 2 mtr
radio but the receiver is excellent. The rest of the settings. The
The Elecraft/Heil ProSet K2 uses the iC (Icom) electret mic
element. It does not use either HC4, HC5 or new HC6.

I'd like to use DIGOUT1
to switch the K3's key out between two amps based on band
(HF and 6m). I'm not that technical and am not used to designing
little transistor switching circuits and wondered if you can give
me some info on how to do it. I guess I'd need a transistor that
would switch
I have finally started to install this kit as I needed to pop the rig open to
fix a problem and wonder if I'm missing a part. When I opened the plastic
envelope, I have four parts: 2 resistors, the LCD display, and the
Backlight (with pins A K). According to the parts list, I should have a
Jon,
I would use a 2N7000. The circuit could be quite easy - a 10k resistor
from +12 volts (K3 +12 volts out will do fine) - the source goes to
ground - the drain connects to the relay coil. I would strongly
recommend a diode (1N400x) between the drain and ground (cathode toward
the drain).
Yes, you are missing that part. You will need to contact Elecraft and
ask for the missing piece - on the contact page at Elecraft site look
for the e-mail for missing and spare parts request.

Walt,
It may be that you need version 1.6 of the KRC2 firmware - but I will
wait for Jack Brindle to answer with certainty.
The last I heard is that the release of version 1.6 was delayed by the
late discovery of a minor bug.
Yes, 6 meter support was reported to be available in version 1.5,
In chasing my audio at the Line out jacks problem i noticed that when i turn on
the Sub rx i get a GF error and then the frequency display shows the dialed
frequency. It's just there momentarily. This has been happening for some time
but i forgot about it.
Today for some reason i noticed
