Bob,
If you check the list of ERR codes in the back of the K3 manual, you
will find that an echo from a DSP command was not received.
The suggested correction is to reload the DSP firmware (and DSP2 if
applicable).

Hi Piero,
I suspect that you are experiencing some sort of RFI problem. RF in the
shack can do strange and surprising things.
What other audio devices are in your shack? Computer speakers? Broadcast
radio?
Try this: Disconnect from all other audio devices in your shack from AC
power.
Does traffic OUT of the K3/0 dominate that 900 KB/s stream? Have you
measured the in/out components on either end?
Thanks,

Tom,
I am going to make an assumption because it was a little ambiguous
whether you changed the jack or the plug.
I assume you changed the *plug* on the headphone cable. If you changed

The assembly instruction mentions that toroid cores remain somewhat loose

Hans,
Yes, you may shorten the wire, it is the number of turns that count, not
the wire length.
However, it is usually easier to just spread the turns out until it
tightens up a bit.

Bob,
Do you hear sidetone on that K2 when in CW mode and hold the SPOT button?
If not, you have the wrong sidetone source selected.
Go to the menu for STL and hold EDIT to edit the parameter (if you do
not hear sidetone at this point, it is a sure sign that you have the
wrong source)
Now tap
