I tried this again with exactly the same setup and now it works. I still
don't know what the original problem was as all the hardware is identical.

Hi,
I have a W2 that has not been used in some time. I tried it today and all
functions seem to work ok except I cannot set the SWR alarm trip point.
According to the manual sending a "]" increases the trip point and a "["
lowers it. If I send "]" I get back "]00;". Same response if I send "[".
Hi Tim,
I have been setting up my new shack at our remote property. We recently had

far for the wifi signal to reach the shack (~200ft).
I purchased a TP-Link 2-Port Gigabit AV2000 Passthrough Powerline Starter

After no response from the group I sent my question to support and received
the following reply:
"There are no compatibility issue with the K3 controlling the K3S (or K3S
controlling the K3). The K3 will react as if it was the K3S."
Once again, great customer support.

Hello,
Are there any compatibility issues using a K3 to control a K3S with
Remoterig? Specifically, there are extra preamps and attenuator settings
available in the K3S that aren't available in the K3. How would these be
handled with a K3 as the "local" device?

Hi Jack,
I have had this exact problem. Turned out to be the connector between the
front panel and main pcb. Treatment with Deoxit has cured it.
BTW - I also had some other weird, seemingly unrelated, problems that would
occur randomly. The Deoxit treatment cured all of those as well.

Hi Chris,
I have had a few weird intermittent problems over the years, including
something similar to your description. After a few false starts, I
eventually separated the front panel from the main pcb and gave the
connectors some treatment with Deoxit. Since then, none of the previous

Hi Roger,

Hi Brian,
Make sure all of connectors between the front panel and the main pcb are

Try running VCO MD CAL again. I have had problems with this in the past.

Hi Todd,
I experienced the same problem in the field a few months ago. It turned out
to be a connection problem between the 10w PA and the main pcb. Removing and
re-seating the 10w PA module fixed the problem.

Hi Bob,
The KAT3 tuner has one of the widest matching ranges I have ever seen from
an autotuner. Only maybe twice has it not matched what I have connected to
it.
I suppose I want to know if the KAT500 is a beefed up version of the KAT3,
using the same value components and firmware algorithms.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the quick reply.
How do you think this unit would perform if powered from a smallish petrol

I wouldn't say the *only* advantage. What about universal, wide input

regulated supply to the PA will result

Why don't you use the TS850 to listen to yourself transmitting on the K3
