Yes, Steve, all modes supported by the KX3 are usable on all bands, including
those using either internal or external transverters.
I am using my KX3 now primarily as the I/f for my 10GHz rig and have used it on
multiple modes including CW, SSB, FM, AM, and digital.

That looks interesting, Ken. I had not seen such a tool before. I’ll dig
deeper and see if they make a version for 6.3mm plugs too.

I have suffered the very same failure but on my K3. Despite extensive attempts
on my part, removing the dislodged tip has proven futile and it appears that
the female jack will need to be replaced. Removing it might help but it’s just
too finicky for me.

Still hoping for some resolution to this problem since it’s now been a year
since it was reported to and acknowledged by Elecraft as being a firmware bug.
It really renders the KX3 as fairly useless as an I/F rig for microwave
transverters if you need the TxInhibit function.

Hi, Martin.
Thank you - that is great to hear. I will give that a try and see. I didn’t
realize that I could actually tune above 30MHz directly, although I had not
even tried.

The transceive problem didn't seem to exist on any older non-synthesized
transceiver that I have used, including FT-101 series, TS-520/820 and
later, KW Electronics KW-2000E. these were all '70s era transceivers.
