Yes it is possible to have multiple 'windows' open on a large monitor. You
will need a svga to hdmi converter to take the signal from the P3 to a
video multiplexer box which uses multiple hdmi inputs. You can set it for
various configurations of the display screen depending upon the video box.
I'll vote for a tie dyed color scheme in the lighter colors... It will be
quite useful at BurningMan...

This weekend I had my large monitor hooked to my SVGA output on the P3 for

of the use of a panadapter to all of the folks who stopped by really

Last year I was running my K3s digital, and I could see the CW operators

of the CW ops was only 10 KHz away and not interfering with PSK31.

The eSynic VC043 (available from Amazon for $12.95) works well with the P3
and a HDMI monitor. The one thing you will need to do is supply 5 Vdc to
the USB plug on this unit. The USB on the back of the P3 does not work to
provide power to this unit so you will need another source like your

The SVGA schematics were missing at

I was trying to see if the 5 Vdc was available at the keyboard port to
drive a SVGA to HDMI converter or if it needed to be turned on in software.
I could not find this information in the manual.

I definitely would like to see mouse control for the P3... The current
buttons and especially the rotary encoder are stiff enough so that the unit
moves when they are pushed. With a mouse controlling these features the
unit is not touched. A USB port to allow the use of a wired mouse or a

The vast majority of laptop computers come with a little 2mmx7mm slot in
the case to allow the attachment of a security cable to discourage them
from growing legs when left unattended for a few minutes... Is there a spot
on the case of a K3s where such a milled slot could be added? It would be a

When I switch to DATA mode, the receive bandwidth is only about 600 Hz even
though when I check with Data MD it shows the USB mode. I have the 2.8
filter selected and it shows on the display and using the K3 Utility
program. The audio also shows that there is only 600 Hz bandwidth. When I
