Hi,
Just go to config and change AGC SLP from 10 to 15 (the maximum) and your
troubles will be gone. This was one of the first things I did after being
nearly blown out of the shack by a strong signal. Beats me why some people
want it the way it comes from the factory.

the ability to use it as a 2nd receiver is very attractive, too. I am quite
excited at the prospect of adding a DRM decoder behind it (BC DRM - not the
narrow band ham version), although there are ruminations that DRM is a dud

Fix the problem with ham bands disappearing when tuning to frequencies
outside the ham bands as suggested by Wayne (the "virtual" SWL band) earlier
today and there will be nothing confusing about the band button. Lots of
other radios do it this way.

The brick wall feeling of the DSP filters is something else! There is simply
absolutely *no* sign of a beat note on the "wrong" side of zero beat

Hi all,
There has been a lot of posts lately of an apparent problem with the TX mic
gain being low initially or after a recorded message finishes. I have never
noticed this, but I have the exact opposite problem. Occasionally when
ending an SSB transmission, the RX initially has reduced gain and
a
zip-loc bag. The only way to repair this would be to unwind one turn and
join the magnet wire with something in my junk wire collection. This I do
not want to do so I have E-mailed Elecraft for a replacement inductor.

Is there any harm done using a mono to stereo adapter in the line out jack in
order to get the signal (no subreceiver installed) in both channels? This
will presumably short-circuit the right channel output on the jack. I am not
using any any of the pseudo-stereo modes.

Why not use the A/B button instead of REV when working split? No acrobatics
necessary. Tap it once, tune the other frequency, tap it again and you are
back where you started.
