Hi, folks, I just installed the KXV144 in my K3 and all went smoothly --
it even works, after a fashion. I have this one teensy problem...
...it's not transmitting on the frequency (simplex) it says it's on.
I know about setting ALT for -/+ or simplex, I've got the ADR set to

Hi folks, thanks to those who offered advice on the failure of my KPA3
to actually amplify anything. A new wrinkle has turned up as of this
afternoon when I resumed testing on it: the KPA3 works every now and
then very *briefly* and after it does I get the ERR 12V message on my
display which
In the past few days, I've noticed the KPA3 in my K3 serial number #584
acting flaky. Well, today it apparently failed -- or maybe I'm
missing something (?). No matter what I do, the rig is limited to 12 W
(or so it says); I've switched the KPA3 on and off numerous times in
software, I've
Thanks for the suggestion, Ed, but I don't see any hint of carbon on
either the plug or the receptacle pins that connect the KPA to the rest
of the radio. Do you know -- or does anybody know? -- what sort of
quick check of voltages I could measure to check whether the KPA is
functional?
And, yup, me too:

I've just discovered a 2T-GEN two tone generator kit which I bought not
long before I decided to buy a K3. As you may know, the K3 has a 2-tone
generator built in, so the one I have is now surplus but would be ideal
for a K2 owner.
So it's for sale. It's unbuilt, in original packing/pink
Don, the problem is that I have no connection to the K3 from my computer
anymore despite the fact that I *did* have one until a few weeks ago.
Neither the Prolific USB-serial nor real com ports -- and three
different computers! -- make any difference. I think it's a problem
with the K3

That seems reasonable, Simon, but if you're already *on* 6, can't you
just tell by the sounds? I don't mean to be difficult, I really am curious!

Hi,
Make sure that the KSYN3 and XREF3 boards are not shorting to the front

Hi, gang, I need your help. I just received a new MH2 mike from
Elecraft and intend it for eventual use on my third round K3 order. In
the meantime, I modified my K2 to use it -- the sheet included with the
mike provided instructions for doing so and I added the resistor across

Hi, folks, I ordered a K3 last week or so for December delivery and am
*really* looking forward to it! But one option I just really really
need is the noise blanker. I went to website this evening and searched
for a place where I could place an order for one, but no luck. What's up?
Tnx!
