Yesterday I got an ERR PL1 when changing to 12m. I did a VCO CAL and it
went away. This evening, I changed to 20m and got ERR PL1 again. I did a
VCO CAL and it did not go away but showed up with an E 000129 ERR VCO.
Since I am on east coast, many Elecrafters will see this before the support

Joe:
Refer to the Manual, and run VCO MD as directed there.
That did it for me... last night, for that matter.

Ken,
Did the CONFIG:VCO MD procedure, and now I do not see the error

I don't know about Joe, but that makes no difference for me. The appearance
of the error message is still there but now only when I turn the radio on
and it is already on 12m. Strange. Never mind.

This is too spooky for words. Just for fun when I saw your reply Joe I
qsy'd from 10 down to 12 and there was the error- I swear it was not there
when I had the same issue with 40 before.
Now, two minutes after typing the above paragraph, the problem on 12m has
disappeared as mysteriously as it h

I had the same happen to me after going to 2.02, except for me it was on
40m. Whichever direction I approached the band from it happened just as you
describe. Odd thing is, without any action on my part it went away and
never came back!
I am wondering if I had powered the off and then on again a
After upgrading to 2.02 firmware I get the error message "ERR PL1"

Good day,
Recently I noticed a brief flash of ERR PL1 when changing from 17M to 15M.
It happened maybe a dozen times. Not noticed before, not noticed since.
I didn't record the exact frequency this was happening on.
PLL 1 voltage on 15M:
21.000 5.2
21.050 5.5
21.100 5.8
21.150 6.0
