Well, it's an almost-clean CW sweep as I have no antenna for 160. The K2/100
made it easy though on 10 through 80. I am especially proud that 13 year old
Samantha and 10 year old Charles both worked T32C on 10m CW. Tnx Elecraft!

With a solar flux of only 73 tonight the 20 meter band was open to VK/ZL and
most of Europe all at the same time! My new K3/10 kit is finally complete and
the Elecraft MOJO is working.
Having too much fun!

The readers of this reflector, at least the Elecraft
owners, have observed and felt the Mojo feeling. This
has been documented many times on this reflector.
Where is the Mojo in these radios?
Hardware is hardware. The careful selection of
hardware and how it is put together, at least for me

I don't think the MOJO will get overwritten with more additions. Instead it
is muliplied so, that there is more MOJO! From Mojo to MAJOR MOJO.

Sorry to say but after many days trying I could not work VP6DX from home
using my K3 , 100 watts and either my 5 band spiderbeam or my HF9V.
I had to go to the club shack ( VK6ANC ) to work them on 20 and 80 mtrs
ssb with 400 watts
All this talk of how easy it was on qrp is amazing as everyone
Worked VP6DX this morning on 160...
I was running my K2/100 (about 90 watts to the tuner
due to some foldback issues) thru the KAT100 into a
55' piece o' wire with a few radials, none any longer
than 40'. It was a solid no repeat QSO.
Those folks have good ears and they were a solid copy

Fellow Crafters,
When I initiated the use of the term Mojo as expressed by Elecraft radios way
back many years ago, I did not realize what an accurate term it would become.
I now have the K1, and K2, and now K3 #316 is alive and well. Unlike the KRX3,
KDVR3, KXV3, etc., Mojo is not an
Mojo? My K2 still has plenty of it! I am still amazed at the contacts I make
with it. Built in 1999, S/N 0539, is the stock (no mods), not revision B, 15w
capable QRP rig. It has never been in a SSB QSO, but does have the KSB2
module. I've toased finals twice and performs well at home, on
I appreciate being able to fire up my K2 and enjoy
whatever HF operating suits the moment. I can't say
its clearly superior to other rig choices that could
be in my shack, but it is there, and I assembled it
myself. Original motivation was to experience the
build, and use it as a QRP supplement
The sun may actually be coming back. I have been watching the smoothed sunspot
number climb from 0 to 29 over the past several days, and the solar flux has
finally crept up a bit (at 78 as I write this).
This has compelled me to get up early (1300-1400z) to hunt for DX... SM4OTI has

Sunspots or not,
I just worked Bob, w9kni from Oregon.
He had a K3 No14 with 100W.
I still wait for that of mine, but used the K2 at 5W level.
A rather long CW chat with solid signals.

Be interesting to know what antennas/rigs/power the leaders were using. Is
there a web site that covers this?

Woohoo!!! Long Island, NY to Dijon, France...with 3 Watts! I was very excited
to work HI with 5 Watts some mos. back, and glad to feel likewise again last
night. I didn't think I'd be able to be heard through the other stations
calling Paul, F9KP.
There's something I feel is worth mentioning.
