Mike, If you are certain you had the red toroid cores (not any blue ones) then you have the older KPA100 T/R switch design - it must have been shipped before mid-Nov 2006. You do not have to check C31 with the red toroid KPA100. Do check to see if the KPA100 is displaying low power - you

hello all, Well, I hit my first snag with k2 # 5723. On page 61 of the manual in the vco alignment, I measured the voltage of r30 first out at 2.33. that was with the tuning slug, L30 turned all the way in. turning the slug out the voltage changed to 2.44.

I belong to a few other lists. One notable list is the Yaesu FT100/D group. If you have never visited, they are a Yahoo group list. I have an FT100 and its a terrific rig in many ways. In Some ways it is similar to the K2 size power, etc but in no way resembles the K2 as a receiving tool.
