In preparation for delivery of K3 in the winter, are there any suggestions for
a PSU (available from a supplier in the UK) capable capable of running the 100w
version of the rig?

Kenwood 930, 940 and 870 derive the 8830 KHz IF output port from a
dedicated mixer that duplicates the main mixer, but without the roofing
filter, if I recall the schematic correctly. Hence there are parallel
signal paths, one for the main signal and a second path for the IF sample.

downloader working was to use Microsoft's C# programming environment.
Correction - elegant not elegent. ;-)
And not elegant in the manner of the .NET Framework
which is typical MS bloat, but with respect to VB or
C# code which is clear and concise. That's why it
should be a very good port.!!

Given a choice, I'd leave it in C#, since with the existence of .NET
compatible libraries on alternative OS's, you'll have a better chance to
encourage people that Elecraft cares about giving people a choice of how
they set up their stations.

Linux and Mac would likely be a fairly easy community project if you
provide the C# code.
Borrowing a Windows box isn't hard for Linux or Mac users, but it would
probably be nicer for some folks.

The most likely reason is that your filters are currently not set
correctly for single signal reception and allows the BFO to leak some
signal into the IF passband.

I've just posted a new version of my tutorial on RFI, Ferrite Chokes,
Baluns, and audio for hams. It has the same filename as the original,
but the title shows Rev 1, 25 Jul 07.
The new stuff is primarily confined to pages 29-36, which addresses
choke baluns wound with big coax (RG8X, RG8).
Do it in Python, make it really portable, and lower cost to maintain.
