After being out all evening, I came in and sat down to read my e-mails from the
Elecraft reflector and KX3 Yahoo group. Ron's e-mail below was the last one I
read, and I said to myself, YES, good e-mail, Ron! I bought my KX3 to use as

Hi K2 members;
I am building on a K2(100W) rig.
I near future I will take the rig in use on holidays.
I look for some compact power supply suggestions witch I can take easily in my

Has somebody any suggestions around, or some more useful information
That's all I have hooked up to my 87A other than the coax do you have all
the menu items set correctly on the K3?

Do you hear the 76 TX relay engage or see the meters change color from green
to amber when you key the K3? If not, the keying signal is not reaching the
amp and you need to determine if it's a problem with the amp or the K3. I
hope you've not interchanged RF INPUT with RELAY...BOTH are RCA

Got a PigKnob yesterday. Works great! You can tune at one speed, push the knob
and tune faster. This is all easily reprogrammed. The 8 buttons also can be
easily reprogrammed with whatever you want. I set one to do a split 5 up, and
another to normalize. The knob is smooth to tune, the whole

I think weight and dimensions are most important ?
Gamma HPS-1a
Dimensions: 3.37 x 1.55 x 5.25
Weight: 1.25 lbs.
Well then, you better get rid of your Elecraft radios and go back to some
analog stuff with drifting VFOs and best guess frequency dials.
Maybe go way back to some Central Electronics exciters (See the current QST)
where we converted Command Set transmitters to VFOs and went to heroic
lengths

Sorry, I've obviously posted to the wrong reflector.

Before I get all worked up about this??. was there ever an Official
announcement
by Flex Radio Systems about the discontinuance of the Flex 5000A ?
I just took another look at their web
Yes, and it sounds quite a bit better too. Had all sorts of fun this morning
on the local area 160 meter SSB gathering. Nobody wanted to believe I was
running QRP (everyone else in the 75 or so mile radius had their KW amps on and
swore they needed them to be heard. Always fun to blow away
If you are the type that likes a computer-coupled-radio, then Google the ANAN10
and ANAN100 and check it out at a fraction of the price of the 6000 series. See
the eHam Reviews. It is similar, and uses open source software.

I believe so. K3 works great by it's self. Going to try everything again
today since i've had a good nights sleep.

How about setting it to VOX. There is a note in the manual about this.
Relay key line will go active, but no power out of the K3 and, therefore, no
power out of the Alpha.
This happens on my K3/Al-80B combo.

Do you have a recommendation for isolating the audio lines when operating

Homebrew, DIY, don't care. Looking for small, lightweight and effective.

When updating microcode I am getting a continuous stream of what I initially

I am still concerned
Hi
In programming Win4K3Suite, I encountered a few few missing missing commands
in the serial API and a couple of bugs.
The most important missing command is the ability to determine the shift of

I'm also running ACLog3.3 and the only problems I've noted are with LOTW. That
problem is actually at the ARRL, not with the logging program or the K3's
updated firmware. ARRL acknowledges there is some sort of problem at HQ with
LOTW but they haven't located or solved it yet.

Hi, I suffered tremendous shock upgrading firmware from 4.60 to 4.67
using new k3 utility linux version 1.13.4.15. I have used k3 utility
linux version to upgrade k3 firmware with P3 connected without

A couple of times when changing configuration menu settings, the lower

Jim,
A very long hold of the MENU|CONFIG button commands the K3 to become a
remote terminal, the same as a K3/0, to control a remote K3 over the
serial port.
You can get back to normal by a very long hold of the MENU|CONFIG switch.
Info should be in the firmware release notes.

not work.
My KX1 seems to be working fine; I hear a strong signal into my other radios
and no error messages or other problems. When I install the ATU I can null C9.
When I tune, power always reads 0, sometimes for a second 1; R always equals
9.9. I am feeding to resonant antennas, a dipole on 14, an
