[Elecraft] PayPal holding payment. (Follow up)
After a rabbit hole trip through PayPal's endless loop "customer service" pages, I stumbled on a page that asked what help I needed. I kept entering "Notice of Delivery". When it ran out of questions and options, finally I was presented with a page with a 6 digit number on a black background, below which was a phone number. I called, got instructions on what to do, spent the next ten minutes listening to the pages (verbatim) I had spent the last three hours digging through. Finally I was asked for the six digit pass code then sat through another eternity on hold finally answered by a human sounding voice. I explained that I had been trying to find a way to send them Proof of Delivery. She said PayPal already had POD and that my buyer only had to log in to his account, go to Activity, scroll down to the item and click to release payment. None of this was transmitted to me or the buyer by PayPal or shown on their "Help" pages. I contacted the buyer, he followed up, and within minutes the subject "Your money is available" appeared in my in box. I hope this helps others avoid similar problems. I intend to call my credit union's customer service and see what I can do to (legally and safely, for both parties) transfer funds for goods and services. Maybe VISA would be willing to offer such a service, or the shipping companies? Good Evening, The rainy season persists longer than normal. Lots of wind with more snow. The radials have been depressed twice by the snow and are getting overgrown with new plants. Mostly they are invisible. Lots of new growth is changing the scenery to a yellower green palette. Moss is "blooming" preparing for the drier season to come. Ferns are ten to twenty inches tall, none have unrolled. Trilliums are blooming at this elevation while flowering dogwood is peaking down below. The sun has fewer sunspots this week. The active groups are pointing away from us. Solar flux is fairly high with the K index ranked as quiet. That may mean less QSB with moderate signals. Much better than "working" during an X-class flare. The band just went quiet from end to end. But I did not know that until later. Tomorrow could be better. Let's see. That's not a function of the synth boards. It's a function of the KXV3B. KXV3 had no preamp, KXV3A added support for the internal transverter and KXV3B integrated the second preamp for 18 MHz and up. 73, ... Mike, The K3 2nd preamp is on the KXV3B transceiver interface. It can be activated for 12, 10 & 6 m. Unfortunately, since it was not Amazon doing the selling I had to deal with the crooks directly. When they would not offer a satisfactory resolution I turned the mess over to the credit card company. I received a full refund plus kept the incorrect item that was shipped. I got scammed on PayPal, sent something that wasn’t even close to what I paid for. The seller in China offered to refund half of the cost. I refused. PayPal ignored my further complaints and I got zero refund. I just sold a rig through PayPal, with UPS tracking number, but after payment was received into my account, PayPal placed a 21 DAY HOLD on the funds. "We've placed the money on hold because this transaction is inconsistent with your previous selling activity. The money has been added to your on hold balance. It'll be available once we can confirm that your customer has received the goods or services."
