Hi All,
My home brewed touch paddle doesn't get along with the k2 at higher
output powers.
I'm going to try some filter caps, but I think it will still probably
not work.
Any suggestions on a really light touch paddle?
The K8RA paddle looks like a precision design with a good heavy base
weight.

It sounds like you have some RF-in-the-shack that is getting into the

Hi Duane,
If you really want to build a touch paddle I made one similar to the
commercial ones here. I haven't had any problems using it with the K2 at
100 Watts.

Sheesh, you call that old? I'm using a 10-inch Hallicrafters R46-B. Great

I've just installed the K160RX module in my K2, and I cannot align it: trying
to do so on transmit gives HiCur readout no matter what I do. I've even
tried boosting the Cal Cur menu option: still no dice. It looks like a very
simple circuit, and it does fine on 80m. Any suggestions
If you are only using one speaker on your K3, you are missing out. The K3
sounds better with two speakers and the SPKRS menu set to two. Even normal
(non AFX) audio sounds better with two speakers. I like AFX set to Bin, but
delay as also great. Try it, I think you will like it.

It looks like you have a pc at the remote site. What you need is a
parallel relay board, like this one:

Hi gang,
The weekly Elecraft SSB net will meet tomorrow (Sunday, 6/7/09) at 1800Z. We
will start at 14.316 MHz, and QSY if needed. I will not be able to be
there, but Mark, K4SO, in Virginia will be doing the net control duties.
Have a good one, and I will see you next week.

Dan,
First try a simple solution - turn the power control back to 12 watts
and try a TUNE.
If you still get HiCur messages, then check the low pass filter on the

of the wire through the center of the core counts as one

Go through the checks that I have indicated anyway and let us know how
far down the list you get without the voltage going to zero. When you
have found where it goes to zero, that is the failure point.
