Hi all,
I've been using HRD to interface to my K2 and, for the most part, I'm very
happy with it. I use DM780, the logbook and have controlled the K2 over the
internet in conjunction with IP-Sound. I get the general feeling, however,
that (understandably) current development is focused more on

I think you'll have a great time, Martin. Savor the build; don't rush it. You
only get to build your first K3 once. I have built two, and I found my first
build was the most fun. My K3s are a delight to use, each time I sit down to
operate.

I need help hooking up an Ameritron 811h amp to my k3. Don't want

John,
Forget the ALC - that amplifier only generates ALC when it is
overdriven. There is no provision for protecting that amplifier from
fault conditions such as that which exist with modern solid state
amplifiers. Adjust the power of the K3 to properly drive the amplifier

John, like you I'm using an amp for the first time as well (AL811 - no

cable from the K3's KEY OUT to the amp's RELAY.
I also found that I needed to adjust the K3's T/R Delay (on the SPEED/MIC
pot) to 25 mS. Works great at

Phil,
You have to get the K3 ALC meter to illuminate 5 to 7 bars with the
compression set to zero. That is true with any microphone.
According to the G4WPW microphone information, the MC60 mic has no
preamp, but has a hi-Z, Lo-Z switch (it should be set to lo-Z for the
K3). The M60A has a

and the K3 set for FP L.
I am driving it with mic gain set at about 23,
