Eric indicated in a previous post that Elecraft were aware of the decoding
problem and that it would be fixed in a future upgrade. It seemed that for
many people the improvement to AGC out weighs the loss of decoding. Perhaps

Also, there is nothing to prevent one from going back to 4.48 and wait on the
improvements to be incorporated in the new release.
I saved a copy of 4.48 in order to do this if necessary.

Apologies if this is 'yesterday's news'...
When I'm SPing in a contest with the 2nd receiver in the right ear (A-AB) I
like to be able to switch quickly to sub in both ears (AB-AB); often it
makes it easier to copy a weaker signal.
I've been doing this with 2 macros to switch the L-MIX-R
I am trying to write 2 simple macros and assign them to PF1 and PF2. The
macros are for changing mode to DATA A and toggeling MIC+LIN on for PF1, and
then returning to CW on PF2 and toggeling MIC+LIN off.
They look like this:
MD6;DT0;MN015;UP;SWH45;MN255 /* assigned to pf1 hold */
Given the usability of these multi state macros it would be valuable
if Wayne would extend the number of macro slots that can be assigned
to K3 switches. In effect each of these toggle or tri-state macros
is two or three individual macros that remap the key on each step -
with at least 10
Anyway, these two macros work perfect from the K3 utility. They also
work OK direct in the radio, BUT ONLY THE FIRST TIME. After that,
unless I reassign them after a reload, they give me a MIC+LIN N/A in
CW mode.
For them to work even one time is incorrect: MIC+LIN is only valid in

I agree it's very cool to be able to program a toggle macro. I just wanted
to mention that the same can be accomplished in DXLab's Commander rig
control module, with which you can have either eight or sixteen
user-defined controls.
I have two that each switch between a mic on the front panel
CW decode will be improved in the next release of K3 firmware.
Meanwhile, try using a lower AGC threshold and a narrow filter
bandwidth.

I'd also like to mention that for Mac users DL2RUM's RUMLog also has K3 Macro
support.
In the K3 control panel there is space for 12 Macros.
Now that I think about it I will have to try some of these triple macros in a
couple of the slots I have left over.

Changing this made a difference but did not fix it. it just moved the

there but seems much quieter not sure if thats just me or the Cal made a

Jim,
It appears that you are trying to imbed the PF key numbers in the macro, which
is not the way to load it into those keys. Here is how I get my macros to work,

With 4.51, the operation of CWT seems to have changed [possibly in my
mind and not in the radio :-)] The indicator follows band noise
somewhat erratically regardless of where I put the CWT threshold which I
think is the same as the CW decode threshold. On a signal, it will
center and follow

I think the CWT is fine. I set the threshold on it so that it just flickers
with band noise, and find that at that setting I cans use it to tune signals
that are just above the noise on the P3.

AGC would have no effect on Sherwood's measurements, most likely. Nor
would the presence or absence of a sub-receiver. The KRX3 module is
fully isolated from the main receiver unless the sub is turned on, and
even then the two are fully isolated unless the two are sharing the
