Equally revealing is the audio gram of the average over 70 American male’s high
frequency response. I’d show you mine but it’s so bad it’s classified.
Typically falls off dramatically in the high end over time. Mine looks like
Niagara Falls.
Glad to have some way to electronically compensate

About seven years ago, there was an extended discussion on this list about
equalization settings for transmit. I collected all the settings people used
and posted about the majority contour.

Oh yes it is there on many SSB signals where the OP is a male. That is
where most of the fundamental male voice energy occurs. Those signals
which look uniform across the SSB TX bandpass do sound good.
I attribute this to the fact most hams will "boost this and boost that"
and never give

Ha! When my K3S PA output stage died, I had to pull out my Ten-Tec Eagle and
press it into service.
Out came the Tascam USB box and back up and running digital. Oddly (?) my
TX/RX ratios seem to be doing better than when using the K3S built-in audio.
Probably, just don't have enough data
A buddy of mine (KW4YA) was waiting for a tracking # for his amp that was
supposed to ship Monday. He called and found out today that the return shipment
was overlooked. I had an instance a while back when my KPA1500 was returned
from repair and the power supply was forgotten in the shipment.
Thanks Andy, I can locate it from here... Having a bit more info will
help in seeing what needs to be checked!

This discussion suggests there were two board configurations - one with both

It's not clear when the change was made or
Andy,
If you locate those changes I would be most interested... I have a

What mode is the KAT500 in when you power up and see the wrong antenna selected?
What firmware version is loaded in your KAT500?
There was a firmware defect that could cause the wrong antenna to be selected
in BYP mode but it is fixed in the current firmware.
I seem to remember there was a
What is the setting for 10m in the KAT500 utility? The behavior you see
is consistent with 10m being set for ANT2.
Hopefully it is that simple! GL

I have had the KAT-500 for many years and has been very reliable despite
the abuse I have probably inflicted on which will become apparent.
Recently when using the KAT-500 I have noticed from time to time a
fizzing noise. Wasn't sure where it was coming from. Then a couple of

Hi guys,
maybe a silly question but, does all K3s have 6m band..? Looks like my hexbeam
resonates on that band according tomy Ant analyzer, but when I connect the coax
to the K3, it doesn´t. Any ideas.?
