I have seen this topic posted but I guess I missed the corrective measure(s).
My K3 has the latest update and the AGC still just turns off for no reason,
even when it is just sitting there in receive mode. Yes we are using HRD and
the version we have is 5.11 build 3209.

I have used the Samlex SEC1235M supplies for several years with no issues. I
know there have been some fellows who have said the fan noise is objectionable
to them but I have never had the issue. In fact that fan rarely comes on with
my K3 running 100 watts.

Experienced something today that I thought I would ask about. I was testing a
new microphone in test mode with a headphones plugged in so I could listen to
my audio. On two separate occasions when I removed the headphones plug, the K3
shut down just as if I pushed the power switch. Pushing the

reason I cannot get it to work. The macro cycles through the power setting when
PF2 is pressed but the actual output power level remains the same, that is it

I updated my K3 firmware to 4.60 yesterday and the Navigator
appears to no long be sending RTTY properly. I use MMTTY and when I send I get a
solid carrier tone (no diddle) but the characters do go across the screen. Has

As a follow up to my earlier Thank you note I wanted to pass along what I
found.
Apparently, I had two identically named file folders in separate locations.
One was on the desk top, that I created to hold the latest Beta files. The
other was in a different folder location on the C Drive.

OK. I just did some additional checking and it appears the my problem is not
with the K3, but with the interface. My Navigator USB is not allowing the for
transmit in SSB mode. I was able to confirm this by bypassing the Navigator and

Attended the ARRL Midwest Division Convention in Lebanon, MO today and talked
with Eric WA6HHQ and saw the new K3/0 mini as it has been designated. had a
brief chance to play with it as it was hooked up, via internet, to the home
office California. No difference between it and the K3/0

I must be having a senior moment so bear with me. If the KPA500 is not keyed
(K6KR) and/or it is inhibited (AC7AC) while the KAT500 is tuning, why am I

been picking up noise from my computer monitor which can be seen on the P3-VGA

Some may recall I had a issue with my KAT500 not connecting to the computer
therefore not allowing me to use the KAT Utility. After checking com ports and
ever purchasing a new KXUSB cable from Elecraft, I sent the unit off to the
mother ship for a look-see. Turns out we lost transistors Q1
I am having an issue with linking VFO A and B. Page 6 of the K3 owners manual
(Revision D10) suggests that holding the 'SUB' will link the VFO's , and
holding it more than 2 seconds "engages diversity mode." I never seem to get
the linked VFO's. Holding the 'SUB' button any length of time

I discover a problem with my KAT500 in that the Utility shows that no Software
is loaded. It still received signals from the computer as I can control it from
HRD but I cannot make changes via the Utility. The cable Interface Cable shows
only "flashing red" light. To this point I have confirmed

Cluster, when clicking on a station, the K3 will change frequency to that
station, however it will always be 0.75 off. For example if the posted
frequency is 7.017.00 the VFO A will show 7.016.25. A second double click on

decode" window open on both RX and TX. The setting I discovered to get there is
press "TEXT DEC" button, then use VFO B to select "CW 5-40" (or whatever speed)

In response to your question, the K3 Assembly Manual has the KDVR3 Digital
Voice Recorder going in the chassis before the KRX3 Subreceiver. in fact
