I had identical problem. I was, however, trying to use a 4-conductor plug
instead of a 3-conductor plug for the 2.5mm -3.5mm adapter. The tip did
not make contact, giving the symptoms you describe. It should have worked
but didn't. Changing to a 3-conductor plug, all is well.

I hooked up my KX3s IQ port to an EMU0202 sound card and used NaP3 to
display the spectrum.
With no preamp, the display floor is fairly flat, as Scott found. With
preamp, the floor is humped in the middle, as apparently the bandwidth of
the preamp rolls off smoothly at frequencies further

I use a G450A with my steppir three element and it works great. I purchased
the aftermarket MDS RC1 controller and Condrut's PST rotator program and it
gives me computer control either direct or remote.
Like most things, there is a learning curve at work. The first time one
tries to upgrade, he might pick the wrong version, or inadvertently
interrupt the process, or a myriad other goofs. That's why it is important
to do a backup before trying that first time.

The rear mic jack is a mono, not stereo, jack. It will short the ring and
sleeve together. Audio is on the tip, as is the voltage. The mic should
have a blocking capacitor to isolate the audio from the voltage.

I was just going through the menu settings and found that under the CW
WEIGHT menu, when I tap 1 or 2, I just get N/A.
I wanted to set my KX3 to be able to key CW in SSB mode.

Fedex the same, although they deliver Saturdays (but not Mondays). Not much

This is just a short note to say that after a year of continued use, that I

hex beam antenna at about 26 feet.
I had come to know Julian through his apps for the K3. A true gentle
person. I will also miss him and am saddened by his death.

I echo Don's comment. My MC-60 mic used to be very sensitive to RF in the
shack and my monitor used to click on and off, until I placed common mode
chokes on the coax leaving the antenna tuner, and on the coax feeding a
balun outside the shack. (Antenna is an open-wire-fed 80 meter doublet.)
The sarcasm some claim is being lost in the noise of ludicrous explanations.
