Sorry I should have stated that firmware revisions are:
MCU
Larry, the TX filter for CW and SSB is set as 2.7 KHz.
I also have the error code ERR TXG when attempting to set transmitter gain.

I have the KAT3 ATU and when tapping ATU TUNE 5watts appears on the K£ RF watt
meter but there is no movement on the Bird needle.
I have the KPA3 but I presume that there is no point in installing it until

I've installed CQRLOG logging software on a laptop running Fedora 14 and
using the KUSB cable to link to the K3. However I have not yet succeeded
in getting the link to work.
I suspect that I am guilty of failing to correctly install the KUSB
driver.

Are you saying use a single line from the K3S RS232 port to the OM2500A
RS232 port labelled "TCVR", then a second line from the OM2500A RS232
port labelled "PC" back to the computer?

sound card..
I switched to DATA Mode and Data A but WSPR-2 shows no Rx, there is no signal

amount of heat at low
power output as at high power output, if I am interpreting the data
correctly. I would like to know from Elecraft if this is normal

Thanks to all that commented. Just wanted to make sure this was normal
operating behavior. Seemed counter-intuitive but now I think I
understand it. Maybe will run a "Time to Temp" test running low power
vs. high power. Just curious.

we use a virtual COM port? If I remember correctly, I
think I use a Flex Virtual COM port before the power surge? Or did the
power surge zap the USB port on the KPA-1500? Any help appreciated.

. It typically takes a couple of times to reconnect, but once it
reconnects it stays connected until I am ready to shut the station down.
I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this phenomena and
if so, is there a solution?
