I made sure that I was listening on the right sideband (twice), the RX EQ was flat and all DSP was off to the best of my knowledge. I did the hard reset and recalibrated the reference osc. Seems to be better, but I need to check it again at daytime. Thanks for your hints guys, there are so many settings, it is really hard to keep track of all of them . Swapping side bands can happen behind your back. I was part of a multi-multi activating Kings County in the California QSO Party. My assignment was 10M SSB. The first contact suggested I would be more successful if I switched from LSB to USB. I have no idea how I swapped the sideband. I guess holding the wrong button. Or maybe I held ALT instead of pressing MODE-DOWN. 73 Bill AE6JV On 8/19/21 at 8:17 PM, kl...@mtaonline.net (Frederick Dwight) wrote: Make sure you use USB for 20 meters and LSB for 40. Mike, That problem sounds a bit like the Calibration of the Reference Oscillator is off a bit. See tha manual and use the Zero-Beating method as instructed. There is a chance it will help, but no harm if it does not.
