My good old K3/100 has been working fine for many years. Most of the time with
at external PA fed with 10 to 25 W. For the time being my PA is down so I am
running bare foot 50 W FT8. Some days for many hours with no problems. Some
other days the K3 is shutting down after 15 m
It all depends on make and model. I have had two inverters of different make
with no problems. I may also depend on cabling.
With my first inverter I tried running a twisted pair RS-232 line to my
computer. I never got any signals to the computer BUT a lot of noise into my
radio. Just unplugge

I too would like that feature
I'd like to use VOX on digital modes, but never on phone and I see no way to
set it up "by mode" such that the gain can be set to a certain value on
phone (000), but higher on digital modes. Am I correct? Yes, I know I can
turn it on and off manually.

Therefor less fan noise is to be expected.

And remember the Expert is slow so you have to select the right

My guess is that I should order the Kenwood adapter. Am I right?

I **think** I have seen on this reflector that you could assign VFO A to
antenna 1 and VFO B to antenna 2 and then use SPLIT to do the job. I have
not tried it out myself and I do not have time to do it right now.
