Worldly Experts,
I am looking for recommendations/experiences relating to list based radiated
emissions measurement software. This will be used in an OATS environment
where trace based software does not work well due to ambient signals. I will
be driving either a RS or Keysight (aka
Group,A few questions on South Africa power plugs. I have been looking through SANS 164 described plugs and it appears that SANS 164-2 Sheet 2-7 describes the Europlug mechanically, though not by direct reference to CEE 7/16.. Does anyone know if a class II household appliance with a Europlug is

Dan,
South Africa uses the old British Empire plug that is also used in India. When
we were there in 2005 for the CISPR meetings that was the only socket I saw.
Granted, that was 9 years ago, but I doubt the country has made a major change
in that time.

Hello all,
UL6950 and UL60065 both restrict the power cord length to 1.5m.Does anyone know
the reason for this length restriction and (more importantly) does anyone know
of
exceptions that will allow for a shorter cord?
Thanks in advance

UL 60950-1 Annex NAE 3.2.5 states that the power cord length must be between
1.5 and 4.5 meters. The 4.5 meter maximum is from NFPA 70 Article 645.5(B).
Although Annex NAE states that the 1.5 meter minimum also comes from the NEC, I
can't find it. I may just be missing it. I
Actually Ghery, a lot is going to change. South Africa has a 10-20 year
plan to completely move away from the old BS 546 style plug. That just was
regulated recently so not much has probably changed just yet. They have a
lot of different plug types in their SANS 164 standards and I am trying to
Hello CE experts,
The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC seems to have what appears to be somewhat
contradictory statements however I'm sure some experts out there can make some
logical comments.

Dave,
Article 7 of the Machinery Directive is specifically about the presumption of
conformity and paragraph 1 basically means that Member States (‘ authorities)
shall presume compliance of CE marked machinery accompanied by a DoC. This does
not mean that they cannot check compliance anymore.
