To avoid (the cost of) multiple listing: The UL file number does not have to
be placed on the product. There is no reference to the manufacturer required
anywhere on the product. UL assigns a control number to your Listing mark.
This control number is proprietary with UL and not available to
Richard,
My previous experience with TWT amplifiers is that as you say they do
not like excessive VSWR's. Chamber efects is one thing that would cause bad
VSWR. Another way is turning them on before the antenna is attached.
Another way is to misthread the acble attached to the TWT.
I
Negotiate with customer. If he doesn't want your UL file number have him pay
the ML costs. In my dealings hasn't been a real problem either way.

I have to clarify my response to the forum, as I did with Josh.
There's no extra cost UNLESS the form is filled-out as such.
It's how the form is filled out, and the deal that was worked out between the
two companies.
The Multiple Listing application (known as 'Dual Authorization and

Please remember that postings about viruses (no matter how well meaning -
and even about those that appear on the listserver) are strongly discouraged
on this forum. Such postings add to the noise on the forum and can greatly
slow email access times for those with dial-up connections.
The Multiple listee pays the cost of the second file.
The original applicant only pays for it's file.
There is no extra cost to bear by the original applicant.

The first is much more cost effective.
With the second you have to pay the maintenance fee for both files.

If the products are truly identical, only one evaluation is needed.
Dave, John is correct in you do need to discuss it with UL. You only need
to send
one product to UL to test. There will be some additional cost, but not much.
The amount
will depend on how you go about it and what your and the customers needs

Are there some recommended texts on application of the intrinsic

Any thoughts/pointers welcome

CSA has far to many National Differences to list, I'm afraid you'll have to
purchase the standard from CSA. Sorry. (Maybe NEMKO can help you? They
have an agreement with CSA).

question has arisen.
We will be shipping identical products to the USA under two brand names.
Can we obtain UL certification for one brand name only and use the same UL
