Hi,
Well, I seem to have everything working OK now. I installed a completely
new system on a clean PC (not because I though there was anything wrong
with the other PC but because I wanted to use a spare machine with a
faster processor) from the latest EMC2 live CD and then updated it to
the la

Thanks Alex & Brian,
I think I understand a bit bettter now but I'll have a play around
tomorrow all being well ( I've been a bit under the weather for the last
few days which is why I didn't get it sorted after I first wrote... Damn
winter flu or 'man-flu' as my daughter calls it!!).

you don't want to just change it you have to add a couple

Ok, thanks Alex,
I seem to be getting there if a little slowly. I changed the BASE_PERIOD
down to 15,000 and got an error "RTAPI: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay
on task 1" so I changed it to 20,000 and it is running fine.
There is one thing I can't get a handle on - the jog speed of the A-axi
0.
15000 is not very uncommon for a ~1GHz machine, but it depends on the
machine.

Alex

Thanks Alex,
I changed the MAX_ANGULAR_VELOCITY etc to MAX_VELOCITY in the axes sections but
left them as is in the TRAJ section as Brian had suggested that this form was
necessary there. I also increased STEPGEN_MAXVEL to 450 in axis 3 section. This
has now sparked error messages on startup of
MAX_VELOCITY (not MAX_LINEAR_VELOCITY
and not MAX_ANGULAR_VELOCITY).

Alex

Good grief, even the internet seems to have conspired against me now - I

HI,
A few days ago I was having problems trying to get my rotary axis to
move at an acceptable speed - well, I did it with help from Brian and I
thought it was all running hunky-dory. Well, I turned it on again today
and found that I couldn't jog any of the axes. So, I went back over the
