Ok, thanks Alex, I seem to be getting there if a little slowly. I changed the BASE_PERIOD down to 15,000 and got an error "RTAPI: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay on task 1" so I changed it to 20,000 and it is running fine. There is one thing I can't get a handle on - the jog speed of the A-axi

Thanks Alex, I changed the MAX_ANGULAR_VELOCITY etc to MAX_VELOCITY in the axes sections but left them as is in the TRAJ section as Brian had suggested that this form was necessary there. I also increased STEPGEN_MAXVEL to 450 in axis 3 section. This has now sparked error messages on startup of
