Greetings;
I decided to remove the saddle & see what I could come up with, with the
idea of making the screw in boss the crossfeed handle into the thrust
anchor, with room for the nuts etc to get it clamped onto the X drive
screw.
I hit paydirt on that in that I now have removed about an oz

Turret lathe WWII and you will see what I mean.
I have a old Gisholt turret lathe which is 1940's vintage and there were
an incredible number of attachments and tooling made for that lathe for
various jobs. The lathes used

See, for example this manual copy-miller.

I would use it myself (and do) but I wouldn't sell a system with it.
I haven't seen any problems in several years of using various JA flavours. With

You could use G33 again rather than G76 to be completely sure.

How about using it? It appears to have lasted this long and the lathe saddle
gib doesn't work very hard.
Maybe it is original

I have seen 3D printed ones for Colchester lathes on eBay.
I anticipate making some for my

Yes, but how you do it rather depends on what behavior you want.
Are both axes motorized?

Is it possible to sum 2 Z-axes in linux-cnc? Reason for the question
is my mill has both a knee and quill, and I would like to put a dro on
both and have have linuxcnc sum them so the reading on-sceen
represents the distance between tool and job no matter which of the 2

Hi Gene,
1 -- I don't think they have bias magnets in them.
2 -- I don't think you will be happy with the repeatability as a limit
switch. Also, the smallest bit of swarf that sticks to the magnet will
cause you problems.
I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't be optimistic.
