The conversion is automatic in the first invocation. I had a problem on the first one, restored from backups, reported the problem, and on the next update a few hours later, got a new version that worked. Been working ever since. Any tantrums I've had have been 100% PEBCAK as you saw by my previous postings earlier tonight. I am running it (the master-rt 2.8something) on a small mill using software stepping, on a larger mill using a (Mesa) 5i25 card, and on a small lathe, using a 5i25 card, and the Sheldon I am rebuilding will have a 5i25 card running things when its ready to make swarf. All are stepper driven except the spindles. The small lathe and the bigger mill both have spindle encoders I made and brushed 1 hp motors, driven by a pico systems (Jon Elson) pwm-servo amps. The small mill is using its OEM motor & a repaired driver which has very stiff speed, but no encoder. The Sheldon will have a 1 HP 3 phase, operated by a bogus 1.5 Kw VFD, and will have an encoder when the hall effect parts get here. Spindle speed limits are essentially canceled as I have had the VFD up to 200 Hz which it seems quite happy with sitting on the table. That will bring the spindle up to around 3500 revs, more than I'll ever need. Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
