Greetings all;
I have one joint worth of the updown and bitslice coded up and tested.
Plus values in the 0 to 7 range behave as expected. updown counts of -1
to -7 do not, but do give unique address outputs of 15 to 9 in nibble
values, so there is no conflict at any point in the -7 to 7 range.
The software is free but the hardware debugger ICE unit is not.
But it works nicely on the AVR boards.

LinuxCNC's "master" branch, and versions of LinuxCNC after 2.7.xx, will not
work with Ubuntu Lucid. You will need a fresh install of a newer OS if you
want to experiment with compiling the LinuxCNC master branch, or when LinuxCNC
2.8 is released and you want to upgrade to it.

OK, I got linuxcnc-dev installed on 2.5 and the hal comps compiled.
All I needed to do was add the apt source "deb http://linuxcnc.org/ lucid
base linuxcnc2.5"
For some reason the preexisting apt lines were for emc2.4, even though I
installed the 2.5 image. Odd...

Hello all,
I am trying to compile some HAL components for PathPilot. I though the best
thing to do would be to compile them on LCNC 2.5.0 running on Ubuntu 10.04
with 2.6.32-122-rtai since that appears to match what PathPilot is running
on, and them transfer them over to PathPilot.
I have install
I would like to add a physical button to issue an MDI to feed Z at the
currently set feedrate and then of course a stop button. Also one for X
to face off parts. I think that could be a handy replacement for the no
longer present power feeds since I won't have a manual machine.

What do you want to use the direction for?
If you are using the jogwheel as a jogwheel, you don't need direction at all.
LinuxCNC's motion module handles that.
