I recently purchased a cnc4pc C35 breakout board and three KL-4030 drivers for
my milling machine. I've got everything hooked up at the moment but I'm not
getting any motion out of the motors at all. I'm not using the RJ45 connector
on the driver end of the cable because I screwed up when
I have a number of projects where I have to thin down material for each part. I
generally create a single path and then just change the depth as needed.
However
what I'm wondering is if there's a way to have a single path drawn and then in
the code put something that would tell it to repeat
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and help. I really appreciate it.

In the past whenever I've machined holes they end up not perfectly round. I
wondered if part of that could be because of the backlash compensation or some
other setting that I have. I don't think my machine has that much play in it
that it would cause circles to come out like that.

I'm using my Harbor Freight X2 mini mill. I converted it to cnc not long ago. I

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I was hoping to stay in the open source
realm, rather than go the commercial route. I guess I could try something like
wine to run the windows app in linux and see if that will work, but in my past
experience it didn't usually work very well.
Chris
I tried loading NCPlot in ubuntu today using the wine application and it seems
to work, slightly buggy but fully functional. That was the main program that I
was concerned with because it's the program I use most for 2D code creation.
I'll give MeshCAM a try tomorrow and see how that one works.

hadn't used it in a while for anything other than EMC and that was on a
different machine, so when I did the install on my windows laptop I didn't
allocate much space for it since I wasn't sure I'd do much more than just a
little bit of messing around.

I just downloaded the 10.04 live cd because I'm getting rea dy to setup a new

So I've been running my mini-mill with EMC2 now for almost 2 years, and I've

I've been running emc2 now for about four or five months. Other than get it

Anyone have any experience in using EMC with Linistepper driver boards? I was
wondering about the settings to use in EMC and was just curious if anyone else

I have a quick question that I'm sure will be simple for one of the members out

I've been using EMC2 now for a while and I really like it. I just have a couple

pause so I can jog the machine, change tools, touch off,
I have another gcode related question. Lets say I'm machining a one time part,

.005 increments. Is there a way of writing gcode where I can
Is there a good online reference or set of instructional materials for learning
about gcode and programming that I could check out in addition to the gcode
info on the emc page? I'm really wanting to learn how to get the most from my
machine and my programs and my knowledge is limited.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that replied to my question about
learning gcode. I really appreciate all the help and info that everyone passed

I've been running emc2 all day today and every job has required a manual tool

I have a question regarding the pocket hole script from the wiki page. When I
