I have e_dbus and eeze installed, but not hal. Debian is in the process of deprecating hal in favor of udev. When I run autogen.sh from places it checks (among other things) for e, edge and e_dbus. autogen.sh runs ok and generates a make file that compiles and installs without complaint.

After updating to 66260, enlightenment does not start. All I see is a blank screen, no desktop, no mouse. Nothing at all. I was using Slim, so I commented that out and just used a normal startx. Same result. vt reports that Enlightenment cannot initialize Ecore_X!
