I like what you suggest, David, but with some minor changes. I think it's too much to restrict EVDL to BEVs. Rather, let's leave open the possibility of using supercaps or other methods of storing electricity, e.g. a flywheel (I admit, this is unlikely to get anywhere) or even a fuel cell

Hi Bob, I was a driver in the 1968 Great Electric Car Race for Caltech along with Ron Gremban and Wally Rippel. I joined Electric Fuel Propulsion in 1970 and went to Cornell and helped prep the AMC Hornet pure electric entrant that won first place. I also helped prep the second place car.
